I finally managed to close on, and sell my old house!
As many ( too many) people on FR know, I was about frantic with worry over this for months.
Many, many FRiends gave me comfort, prayer, wise advice, the occasional giggle, and a shoulder to moan on.
(Thanks, you guys. I would not have made it without the Canteen and the Undead Thrread!)
It's been a strange and scary year, and now I am done with the mayhem, just in time for Christmas!
THANK YOU ALL!
"Congratulations! Bring out the fatted Llama!!"
My church had a nativity play today, complete with live sheep, mule, goats and llama. I wasn't aware until tonight that llamas were commonplace in early Bethlehem.
Finished the rest of 'em--whew! Now I'm going to bed!!!

Ping to 179, 182 :-)
Is your husband still among the living and free of any bodily scars? (sarcasm)
Nope, but my MIL was totally puzzled by the goat yesterday!
She was like the Grinch, just puzzling and puzzling...
FReepmail me when you get settled. Sometime through the year we'll come to visit you!
I'm sure we can connect some homeschool lesson to it!
I'm sorry I took so long to reply!
That's okay. About a half hour after FR went down, I gave up and went to bed. LOL!
Okay, how did your papers go, then, LOL!
My paper for my PolySci class went fine. That class is over with. But I have to finish a paper for my accounting seminar over break. So that class isn't quite finished.
We lost me with the server as well!!!!
You have one heck of a movie collection!!!
WOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I used to rent a lot. These days I mostly rent what movies they have at the library, as the nearest rental place is so far away. What do you watch?
Glad the PoliSci paper went well! Having a paper to finish over break doesn't sound like a fun way to spend the holiday, LOL! Hope it doesn't take up too much of your break to finish that up.
Unfortunately, the paper will take a good chunk of my time. I'll be glad when it's over with. :-)
I like all sorts of movies. Comedy, romance, western, sci fi. I'm just not a big fan of horror movies.
I think we lost everybody for a while there, LOL! Hopefully tiamat will shake off her hangover sooner or later and rejoin us :)
I'm hoping now that I've got all those movies catalogued we can get the family to settle on what to watch for Christmas! Trying to go to the video store and getting everyone to agree on something is a nightmare, LOL!
SciFi I like, obviously :) I need to get more Westerns. The best ones I have now are probably "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" and "Sons of Katie Elder". I want to record some more John Waynes. Could stand to get some more comedies, too--for instance I noticed while I was putting that together I don't have any Monty Pythons, which is unacceptable :) Don't have any romances to speak of, but I'm a guy so that's fine :)
LOL! I wouldn't expect you to have any. ;-)
I really like Clint Eastwood westerns - mainly "The Outlaw Josey Wales" and "Pale Rider."
My 6 year old has an enormous movie collection, mostly courtesy of a friend whose daughter outgrew them.
I rarely buy movies, instead just rent them - our local video store has a huge selection so we usually pick at least 3, one for each of us, and because the rental is good for 3 days - watch them when we want!
Those are two of my favorites of his, too :) Also like "Hang 'Em High", "High Plains Drifter", and the first few "Dirty Harry" movies (even though those aren't Westerns, LOL!).
I like the Dirty Harry movies too. :-)
"My 6 year old has an enormous movie collection, mostly courtesy of a friend whose daughter outgrew them."
I got a lot of mine in a similar way: my brothers didn't feel like taking them when they moved, so I just added theirs to my collection :)
I mostly only buy movies if it's a major movie I really like--like for instance I just got "Spider-Man 2". Otherwise I record or rent them.
Three days for rental is pretty good! One of these days I mean to try that NetFlix thing.
My favorite "Dirty Harry" is the first one--have watched that about a dozen times. One thing about the early "Dirty Harry" movies that makes me laugh is some of the stuff the stars in there did later. Like I can't watch the second one without thinking of David Soul in "Starsky and Hutch" :)
Also "Escape from Alcatraz" is a good one of his.
I have a friend who constantly complains about her husband's movie collection - both purchased and taped. I don't blame her, though. He's got floor-to-ceiling bookshelves filling an entire wall of the living room, and there are still always stacks of them on the floor.
I did pick up a Redd Skelton DVD Friday for hubby for Christmas :)
I figure there must be an efficient way to store tapes--I just haven't found it yet, LOL! My walk-in closet has more tapes (and books) than clothes :)
That Redd Skelton DVD sounds neat!--he's funny :)
