I believe it's a word used among Assembly of God preachers, as a tribute to some early founder of the church who accidently came to church drunk one sunday and was trying to say "Brain", right? Am I right? What do I win?
Berean is a character from Tolkein's The Silmarilion, the pre-history to The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
He was a man that married an elf, producing the ancestors of the Numenorean line, Aragorn's forbears.
I sure know what a bean brain is.
