My remedy for the sufferers: Pull up your socks, quit acting like a poor loser and get on with your life. HA! ... they can't do that ... no one ever taught them how

I may have to go to an answering machine. I have voice mail now, and it won't let me delete them until their 5 minute speech is finished, but then, my phone company is the absolute worst! I'm a huge fan of answering machines
Thanks to them .. I've stopped yelling in the phone HELLO! . thinking it to be another ()%(*#%*(&*@#%$&* sales call :0)

Gosh I've been watching the live coverage on local TV about this Chicago highrise fire all evening. When I stepped away from the tv for about 20 minutes it seemed like they might be getting a handle on it. Now it looks like it's jumped a floor and there are more flames again Oh wow .. sounds like a highrise fire we had in Philly years back
Several firefighters loss their lives trying to put it out.
It was all so sad .... I'll be sending prayers for those injuried

"and get on with your life." In most cases one needs to ask: "what life?"

The way that wind came up out of nowhere, and was suddenly so violent, I wouldn't have been surprised if it had been a tornado. I am thankful it wasn't. Thankfully, it died down quickly too, but for a few moments the rain was beating against the windows so hard, it literally sounded like it was hitting them straight on, and I could hear tree branches breaking and crashing on the roof.

From that KOS link:
What gets me is Joe has forgotten the golden rule that you do not critize your party in public. No public challenging, no self-examination, no acknowlegement of the part you might play in your own problems. Sounds like terrorist mind-set to me.
Good morning folks. It's raining here today and I'm trying to decide if that might help hold the crowds down at the malls. I was going out shopping tomorow but maybe today would actually be less busy out there.

I can't believe it; you've been to all the best (IMO) places!!! Badwater was closed the other day because of all the flooding from somewhere (Las Vegas weather, I think). I lived 20 miles north, Furnace Creek, for five years. What year was that - maybe we met?

If I am going to do mall shopping, I can't be too selective about when I go, since we don't have a mall, and I'm not inclined to drive 2 1/2-3 hours to make a special trip to one. However, I will be in Russellville later in the week and Little Rock twice between now and Christmas, although I imagine the malls that week will be a nightmare and I may forego. When my daughter gets here, we are planning to go shopping in Eureka Springs. More unique things there anyway.
It has stopped raining here, for now. I hope it lasts. All this rain is really getting tiresome. Still, it beats snow, so I guess I shouldn't complain.

No mall shopping for me ... that's what internet is for :0)
However, since I've been up since 12:30 .. I think I might take a little nap
These west coast hours are killing me

My friend who just retired from the Navy is moving back to Hot Springs to take care of her mom and handicapped siblings... small world. I didn't get to tell you how inspirational the retirement ceremony was.... they even had set up the room like an entrance to a ship.
