I'm using one of Carlo3b's recipes from a thread months ago. It's pretty good and easy to make.

His Disco/Restaurant in Houston always had fabulous food.
I met my Ex there, but I don't hold that against him.

Hubby bought me a Kitchenaid stand mixer at Costco on Friday. I used it to whip up my favorite meat loaf (I love meatloaf sandwiches). This afternoon I'm going to try it out on bread. I like new stuff. I got an iPod last week, and am having fun with that, too.

This cat is all in a stew again today. I don't know what his issue is, but he is being a nag!

This morning, I saw what must have been a very confused Robin on my birdbath. Don't recall ever seeing one this far north this late in the year. How about you Babe; any Robins in your neck of the woods still?

I've never been able to take the country out of that man, where the nearest neighbor is a mile or two up the street...? ;)

One Nov. (in fact it was Thanksgiving) we had tons of Robins in our yard in NH. Couldn't figure it out, but it was a warm day.. LOL, they must have flown real fast if they were already south by that time..

It just seemed odd to me. I guess it isn't too long a flight to Louisiana from here. LOL!

Guess I'd better go get a quick shower. I'm gonna have to hit the ground running tomorrow. I am SO behind! Can't be helped. When one or two cases consume ALL your time and everything about it is urgent, there isn't much you can do about it. I sure want to have some kind of a handle on it before the kids get here for Christmas though.

I got called out this morning to go over to the hospital to check out a baby that was in the ER. There had been a call to the hotline about medical neglect. Turns out, neither the doctor nor the hospital had called. It was apparently the dad, trying to get us sucked into a custody battle. It was fixin' to get ugly. Dad was in with the baby, his mother (the dad's), his sister and his fiance. Mom was in the hall with the other baby and a friend. The cops were there. Dad was trying to get us involved thinking custody would be turned over to him at the hospital. Mom refused to leave without the kid. She is a piece of work, best I can tell. Anyway, it turned out there was no grounds for us to be involved, so I turned it back over to the cops, who were none too thrilled with the looming blowup that was bound to happen when the baby was released.
