You know what - right after I posted it here, I saw your comment on that thread and I was ROTFL!
I don't know about the mostly conservative part other than their shrewd business savvy. But those in the City who make up the bulk of my parents' neighborhood don't fly American flags or vote for example... I have no idea if that lack of concern is contributing to this particular issue or not, but...

I sure would like to have a copy of those praline recipes . . . those were some of the funniest threads I ever read . . . Letitring trying to cook . . . Darlin trying to advise and supervise, long distance . . . and poor Miss Bess trying to clean up . . . LOL!!! . . . those threads were classics in the I Love Lucy tradition.

"who's the Turkey?" Seems I found that picture of Dark's nekkid butt in a compromising position.

"It is snowing in northern Missouri and we might get some of it tonight." It is cold and windy tonight. It was raining this morning when I left, but wasn't horribly cold. By 11 am or so, there there was a bitter cold wind. Had a little bit of drizzle coming home. I hear we might have snow or freezing rain.

"Not cooking this year, I'm going to my Mom and Dad's for dinner Thanksgiving." Except for going on an investigation in the morning, which shouldn't take too long, I am not going any furthur than my computer if I can help it. Got a couple of invites for dinner with coworkers, but I just don't want to be around anybody after the day I've had. Besides, I'm saving my strength for Christmas.

Loddy, what salad dressing recipe do you put on your spinach salad, please?
To: sweetliberty
Yes, it is vicious cold wind swooping around the corners here. And it smells like snow is coming. Of course hubby has not checked the fireplace flu yet so that we can have a fire. I may just get me that "handyman" yet. HeeHee

No, I have lost patience with google, too. Rush was talking some years ago of the search engines contacting him and offering to put his name at the top of the search lists...for a fee. I think Yahoo and now google went that way long ago.

Yep. Winter is definitely in the air. I'm just glad I got home before it started getting too bad. I'd really have been a wreck being out on the the roads if they were getting bad with 4 kids. I was having a hard enough time as it was.

I hope you get to snuggle in and enjoy the holiday weekend without being called out.
To: Conservababe
So do I! I am exhausted. Got up at 3 this morning to take those kids to Children's Hospital. Do you have any idea how tough it is sitting through sexual abuse exams on 4 kids? Then blood tests and X-rays. And those kids were so good it was amazing. Then I got back and no sooner than I walked in the door, the CACD investigator call me to let me know that the 3 month old had 3 healing rib fractures. This is the most precious baby. I can't tell you what I would like to do to those parents. I have no sympathy for them right now after seeing some of what they have done...or failed to do, as the case may be.
I am ready to just collapse. I hope things are calm this weekend, becausae I could sure use the 4 days rest. Wouldn't you know, my rotation on call always comes up during the full moon!

Re: salad dressing
Oh my...I start off with Paul Newman's Olive oil & vinegar and then dress it up a bunch, and thin it out with Bragg's Vinegar.
I'll try tomorrow, with a receipe...

Thats okay, Loddy, and thanks for the thought. But, I wouldn't taste Paul Newmans salad dressings, much less pay money for them. LOL
