Hi, Dutchgirl:

I'm sure that Lillie will have a wonderful baptism. With lots of family and joyous well-wishing.

Don't worry about about culture clash. Relax. Tomorrow's going to be all about Lillie. Accept compliments and gifts graciously as they are given and enjoy the celebration of life.

Jack.

Only joy to report...in a strange way. Grandpa and I had strep last week and Lillie woke up with a 100F fever...which went down to 98.6F by 8am. I went to the church to prepare. A close friend had supplied the gown and Lillie looked like this.

Then her OTHER grandma, grandpa, great grandma and two great grandpas arrived...Father Fred explained the significance of the ceremony, and a melding of Catholic and Protestant cultures, Catholic God-mother, Protestant Christian Witness "God-father" occured within 100 miles of Matanzas Bay.

We drank alot of wine and indulged (wings, cheese, shrimp, snow peas)in alot of family story telling. It turns out that Lillian was born (prematurely) on St. Anselm's feast day. You've never heard of St. Anselm? He is the patron saint of the ontological argument.

How appropriate is that?

My daughter's pediatrician, also Catholic, mother of 6 boys, agreed to see Lillie tomorow after worship, if she is still running a temp. And you thought the age of miracles had passed...
