In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
Subbie Slip has her whip, handcuffs and legcuffs today.

The rest of the stuff is locked up in my drawer. Im just letting all the new students know that we behave as if we were ladies and gentlemen in here. Those two words as if can get you an A if you make the subbie laugh.
New WFTD:
conspicuous
NOUN
This word is pronounced cons pick you us.
Etymology: This dictionary has the etymology way too small. Wheres Miss Rika with her new eyes?
1) Obvious to the eye or mind: PLAINLY VISIBLE: MANIFEST.
2) Attracting or tending to attract attention by reason of SIZE, brilliance, contrast, station: STRIKING, EMINENT
3) Undesirably noticeable by reason of violation of good taste or sense.

Good Morning Class. Welcome to School!
RULES: You must use the WFTD in a sentence for an A. For a + after your A, you must bring in a link of the word usage or something funny, a poem or some prose that will elucidate the word for us.
If you need to know how to link, come to the Subbies desk in the front of the class.

I lied. I'm going back to bed. The cat meowed all night. The dog decided to give chase more than once. 3:00 a.m. is not a good time to go to bed.
See all y'alls in a bit! I beat everyone. I won!

Is that like Tiger's PEES?

My dear Jemian, thank your creator for having no teacher for a little while today. I absolultely detest football. Is that what you're talking about?
I was raised on football. I was thrown hither and yonder by my brothers. It's not a game that is pleasant to watch for me.
But you do get an A++++ for bringing in news about that awful game and using the WFTD!

So is the mobile home style Presidential Museum. I posted it on yesterday's thread. Maybe somebody with better hands and a BRAIN can bring it in here.
