In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
Subbie Slip has her whip, handcuffs and legcuffs today.
The rest of the stuff is locked up in my drawer. Im just letting all the new students know that we behave as if we were ladies and gentlemen in here. Those two words as if can get you an A if you make the subbie laugh.
NOUN
This word is pronounced cons pick you us.
Etymology: This dictionary has the etymology way too small. Wheres Miss Rika with her new eyes?
1) Obvious to the eye or mind: PLAINLY VISIBLE: MANIFEST.
2) Attracting or tending to attract attention by reason of SIZE, brilliance, contrast, station: STRIKING, EMINENT
3) Undesirably noticeable by reason of violation of good taste or sense.
CJ and whyisa, you have to see the post that SG linked here!
i know what Matanza means, so that is why i asked! interesting stuff on St. Anselm. There is an excellent all boys catholic school in DC named St Anselm's Abbey, seems appropriately named.
She was ill for days afterwards......;^)
What's difference (if any) about using that process to get medium well?
Good news!
Lettuce know how the little one feels.
More searing time, cheaper meat. I would hate to cook really good meat above med-rare.

Thank you!
Thanks for clarifying that Loney-Robert, do you really like your steaks medium well? I like mine barely dead...
Definitely: NOT burned on the outside, but "gray" through to the inside. But still juicy, bot bloody.
Rare (classically, I understand) means cool inside, still juicy (bloody), and well-done means burned up outside.
Or Plainsmen? I'm gonna' splain this only once, as I have to many non-believers in the past. Auburn's teams are called the Tigers. Their mascot is Aubie, the tiger.
In addition, since football began they have adopted the cheer, "War Eagle!" after an event during the very first football game during which an eagle circled over the football field.
Subsequently, trained eagles, both bald and golden have been trained to fly over Jordan (pronounced Jer'-dan) Hare Stadium.
The Plainsmen nick comes from an English poet, "Sweet Auburn, loveliest village of the plains." Auburn, Alabama isn't on the plains. It's in the foothills of the southern Appalachians.
Furthermore, sg, they'll kick Volunteer butt again like they did before. Maybe even wear Orange Jerseys.
Auburn's colors are Blue and Orange. Orange Jerseys go back at least 30 years. Ordinarily Auburn wears Blue at home, White away. But for years, clutch games, at home or away, have been met with the Orange Jerseys. Seen it once in person and once on TV.
Why can't we be both? Or more? We'll be whomever and however many we want, thank you very much.
Cholera, that was a very good explanation. Toomer's Corner was a delight Saturday night and my band members returned mighty happy.
All I know is you go south 'til you smell it, then east 'til you step in it. But what the f@#$ do I know, I'm a UAB alum.
I like mine barely dead, but still suffering.
Here is a good chart that shows different donenesses of steak with both pictures and temperatures.
I would like to correct a misconcepetion about meat. There is almost NO blood in red meat. Blood is hemoglobin and is found in arteries and veins. The red juice in meat is myoglobin. This is what stores energy in the muscle.

Finally, a literate explanation of the multi-mascot sitchiation. I'm not a Vol so I'll be happy if my Aggies can hold their own against the miserable teasips this week. They wear orange too. An ugly, kernicteric orange.

I signed too......
Very ugly orange.
Very ugly obnoxious orange.
And it's a very ugly obnoxious orange "T" to boot!
