Yes, we're so bogged down that we forgot we weren't supposed to take the city in SIX DAYS! Good work, men!

Oven update: hubby cut off the power to the new oven on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon, pulled it out from the cabinet. EVERYTHING WAS FINE. He check all wiring and connections and THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. He did a good job of installation, as usual, but just had to second guess himself, as usual. The oven is re-installed and is (continuing) to run fine. BTW, Lepton, it is copper to copper wiring.

About the AU vs. UGA game: I've heard it said that we "manhandled" GA and that we beat them "easily." No, I don't think so. Georgia, as are most SEC teams (Vandy being the exception) are really tough teams. On any Saturday any one of them could beat any of the other. It was not considered a done deal until about 4 minutes left in the game. One game which gives credence to that is seared ~ yes, seared in my brain. The underdog team was done 16 to 0 at the beginning of the 4th quarter. But by the end of the game and thanks to two identical blocked punts, the score was 17 - 16! Auburn did not "walk all over" Georgia. They were a tough and challenging opponent.

God bless our troops.

Just got back from my mom's. While there I found out a girl that was my neighbor many years ago had married a Muslim. They had 2 or 3 children. Her life was so miserable, she purposely drove her car into an on coming truck to kill herself and the children.

She was the only one killed. This happened several years ago,but I just found it out. Please pray for her children, who would be teenagers by now.

My mom's little sleepy KS town has a lot of Muslims living there.

Good morning.

It was chilly in KS this weekend.

The trees had changed and were so pretty.

I agree that the SEC is the toughest conference in the country, but I will say that Auburn is clearly the best team in that conference, this year. Last year, it was LSU. Give the War Eagles their due. ;^)

The Great American Left

I prefer "PINKO, COMMIE STOOGE!!!!!" followed by a few slaps that would make my alter ego, General Patton proud. ;^)

Nice opening chair. Thank you

That is a sad story about your friend for back home Kassie. I recall at Kent State we had a large group of international students from the mideast. the Men were quite the charmers & I recall the girls in the dorm talking about how desirable they were for dates. These men were in demand & told stories of (and I am sure MOST were stories) of being from wealthy oil families to secure bed & breakfast, if you get the gist.

I found most undesirable & besides had a SO at the time.

Good morning.

I wish I could ping Nancy Pelosi to this thread.

And little Tommy Daschle is saddened, deeply saddened.

I'm glad you got to see the leaves in KS. Our have all but dropped, with the exception of the Pin Oaks, which don't drop their leaves until spring.

I spent some time on Thurs & Fri with friends from KS at a meeting in the Quad Cities. Great People.

Good morning! Super opening to get us started on a new week. And listening to the reports on the torture chambers found in Fallujah, the Caucasian woman found dismembered and disemboweled, I wonder what the Great American Left has to say about that.

Is Krauthammer a paraplegic

He's in a wheel chair.

Quite some time ago I asked on a thread,, this one or the Guild,, about him. I could tell by the way he was holding his head that he has some limitations.

I recognized it because I hold my head that way when I am in pain.

someone did a search and verified my suspicions.

Excellent essay, Chairman. You laid it all out.

We finally had the time to finish "Band of Brother" this weekend.

I couldn't help but think as I watched the last of that series of all the lives that might have been saved if Hitler had been confronted in the '30s.

Then, just before going to sleep, I was going thru some old articles I'd set aside to "read later."

One compared Bush to Churchill....but not the familiar war leader we know so well, but Churchill in the '30s when he was the single voice proclaiming the dangers of an increasingly powerful Hitler and Germany.

And today we have Bush, often alone it seems like, warning of the dangers of the growing terrorist threat.

The comparison held I think, BUT, and as the essay pointed out with this major difference: Churchill was out of power in the 30s...on the sidelines, and quite thwarted and frustrated at what he was seeing.

President Bush is in power...too often vilified and hated, he DOES have the full support of US, a majority of the American people.

Anyway, it was interesting to me to finish "Band of Brothers", thinking about the human cost of those years, and then read the Churchill/Bush essay.

There was an excellent BBC series in the late '80s about Churchill at this time, BTW. We taped it, and I still have it. Excellent, excellent, excellent Masterpiece Theatre!!

By the way, how do you abbreviate Great American Left?

Simple - GAL.

Gov. Schwarzenegger was right. They are girlie-men.

Hi Dolly. He's paralyzed, yes, not sure of the extent. I believe it's due to an accident, but not really sure.

He's also a trained psychiatrist....Dr. Krauthammer. The "Dr." is a medical dr., NOT academic...
