I'm glad you'll get to attend the inauguration. Hope the weather is better than in 2001.
Son joined the band in grade school to play the drums (!) and did very well. He didn't pursue it further because it was just a peer thing....meaning, he joined when a bunch of the other boys did and dropped out when they did. He's into sports. Freshman basketball - they've been running him ragged in training.........early morning swims, running 4m. uphill on a country road, running up the local ski hill!!! LOL Must be a little like what my brothers experienced in basic training back in the late 60s.........
Sporadically checking FR and posting on work breaks... Swapping dryers - the belt of my old Kenmore (about 30yo) snapped a couple weeks ago and I've been washing very small loads and hanging clothes inside the house in betweenst election and Fallujah news. Y'day was going to order a new belt, but seredipitously ran across a new (15yo?) Kenmore at a local second hand store and got it for $20 --- a new belt probably would cost as much.
I would love to go to the FR Innaug ball... Probably, given my second-grader, will not be able to break away to do that. Have not given up the thought, though.
I've totally given up on not gloating now, though. I'll let 'em have it with all barrels - about their lack of touting any of the real values Americans want, lack of patriotism, support of the military, lying about everything, gloomy economy, belief in the Old Media, the coming death of the Demodog party, constant pessimism, anti-religion, amorality - they name it, I've got myriad examples that I don't hesitate to bring up nowadays. I'm so very happy that over 60Million Americans agreed with me enough to elect President Bush despite the carping and lies.
After a while they just get quiet. Then, and only then, will I start to make nice noises at them and point out how that party has left them, and other Americans. Most of the libs really know it, but they don't want to admit it yet. I've just taken to hammering it in now, more than ever before.
I also agree with those acquaintances who make noises about leaving the country ...
Funny, I don't seem to have many friends any more who are liberal - wonder where they all went?
