He's more concerned about the wiring. The house was built in '66 and the oven is wired for '04. He thought he was using compatible wiring but wasn't sure. Now, he's nervous. He says he saw smoke where it shouldn't have been and he "smelled something." He's turned the oven off and is pulling the fuse. We're checking the house and cabinet for warm spots. Then, we'll go back and check the wiring. Again. And again.

Somehow I knew we'd be going through this.

If you've got aluminum wiring, I'd seriously consider making a whole new run and hiring an electrician. Was there an oven there before? If so, what was it's power rating compared to the new one?
