What doesn't make sense --- you see them changing 10 stations over to latino hip-hop that are all the same --- and of course 10 norteno stations that are all the same and maybe one or two old-timers music --- (mariachi and the old ballads) --- but there are almost no English stations left. It's even more bland and monotonous than ever but they claim somehow they're making money this way. I don't see how.

When I was in Del Rio three years ago, I had a choice of 5 Norteno stations, 1 Classic Rock station that played Freebird 6 times in two hours (!) and National Public Radio. That had to be the worst choice of stations I have ever been faced with.

Because they are shifting white listeners to satellite radio. Cable television didn't have commercials on the pay channels in the early years either.

Seems like they focused on the demographic most likely to pay for radio and gave us the boot (musically, sports/political talk remain) from the broadcast spectrum.

Local busineses will have to learn Spanish or pony up money to advertise on tv or in the daily or weekly paper.
