The Scleroderma Foundation http://www.scleroderma.org/
My daughter has it, and we'd both be thrilled if they found a cure or at least better treatment. We're rather disgusted that breast cancer gets to much attention, while so many other diseases that affect women are ignored.

I have a detailed giving plan which is modified each year. My husband & I give 12-15% of gross income. One of best charities is Food for the Poor. If you want more info on this or others, I will gladly interact on private post.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
From the site:
All patients accepted for treatment at St. Jude are treated without regard to the family's ability to pay.
St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital welcomes referrals of children and adolescents with newly diagnosed untreated or suspected cancer or with hematologic, immunologic, or genetic diseases.
In addition, previously treated patients who have received treatment elsewhere, may be accepted on an individual case basis when there is a potential for protocol eligibility on ongoing studies, relapse studies, bone marrow transplantation protocols or Phase I-II studies.
Patients with genetic disorders or immunologic diseases are accepted anytime in their disease history based on protocol eligibility or potential to contribute to research projects.

Josiah Vandertulip was an Army specialist killed in Iraq in October. His family has established an endowed scholarship in his name. Contributions can be made by calling Elizabeth Philipp, executive director of the Irving (TX) Schools Foundation, at 972-215-5006.
Even $50-100 would be great. I realize there are a lot of worthwhile charities.

Salvation Army. My home was destroyed in a flood. Completely destroyed.
They were there with us for weeks. They never let us pay for food or supplies. They said, "When you are back on your feet, you can donate then, IF YOU WISH."
They were wonderful. They helped us salvage what little we could and it was not pleasant work to dig through rotting junk, bugs and creatures.
But they were there and did it cheerfully. Everyday.

We donate used baby clothes & baby items (car seats, baths, toys) to pregnancy counseling centers (abortion alternatives).
We have donated money to several of the organizations that are helping the military. Here are two I believe in the most.
Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation (MCLEF): 100% of every donated goes to the children & familes of those killed in Iraq & Afghanistan. Rush Limbaugh is one of the directors.
Homes for Our Troops: Money goes toward building homes for those most severely injured/disabled veterans coming home from Iraq/Afghanistan.
