Here's yet another lawyer running for the white house who could help but lie about the most trivial things (billing record).

If Hillary runs, our best offense will be to run a Conservative against her...not a Democrat Lite RINO.
Our party is defined by being pro-Life and pro-Second Amendment. Sell out those planks on the party platform and we might as well kiss a Republican Presidency in 2008 goodbye.

I wish that we could just go one day without hearing about weather the Hildabest is going to run for President. I am exhausted

Outside of Bayh and Richardson (Gov of New Mexico), the democrats don't have a chance especially if they nominate Hillary or Edwards...In fact we should encourage them to nominate Hillary!!!!
To: BIOCHEMKY
Not a chance. Hilery would lose bigger than sKerry did.

My opinion on this was well-framed by George Will:
1. Her only experience she can cite outside being a trial lawyer is a Senator from a northeastern state.
2. She has a congressional record on taxes and the federal marriage amendment.
3. Oh..there's that health-care thingy in '92
4. She would rally their base unlike Kerry was able to.

Evan Bayh is Dems best hope.. and if they do nominate him, expect a revolt from the fringe left, and they'll put up another Nader type candidate in protest.
Personally, I don't think Hillary will run, and if she does, she'll lose pretty badly.
To: BIOCHEMKY
Bayh would be a formidable contender.
McCain might make a play for 2008. I love Rudy, but fear that he would not hold our conservative base, who finally showed up on Election Day and walked the walk after years of talking the talk. Jeb has said that he doesn't want to run.

She would certainly have a fair shot at Ohio, Iowa, and other states like that where Dems have a longstanding powerbase.

I feel that John Edwards presently thinks he could mount a serious challenge for the democrat nomination for President, but I doubt that he would attract enough funding to fuel his challenge to the point that he would ultimately be successful.
They didn't carry North Carolina. They would have carried the trial lawyers, even without him.
Trial lawyers don't invest their own money into anything that isn't very close to a sure thing. Edwards is no sure thing!
Democrats have little use for losers (losers are, however, permitted, from time-to-time, to make anti-Republican screeds such as what we've heard recently from Carter).

Bush WON on a CONSERVATIVE PLATFORM!
STOP trying to make the Republican party the party od SOCIAL LIBBERALS. The people have spoken - THEY DON'T WANT this.

Hey...you think Kerry/Edwards ran a nasty campaign, wait until you see Hillary. She will pull any trick she can.
To: BIOCHEMKY
If Hillary was smart she would pick a southern Democrat like say Sen. Edwards to help her carry some southern states. Oh wait, that trick didn't work...
To: BIOCHEMKY
If Hillary is the answer, we sure asked a stupid question.
To: BIOCHEMKY
Personally, I don't think you can predict at this point.
At this point in 2000 (or at least when it was determined Bush won), Who woulda thunk that we would experience 9/11, invade Afghanistan, and take out Saddam?
I don't think anyone was floating JFnK's name as the next RAT nominee back then (it was going to be Gore again or Lieberman if I recall).
No one knows what twists and turns will happen - 4 years in politics is a lifetime.

The front runners for the Dem Presidential candidate in 2008 are current Red State Democratic Party governors such as (Warner) in Virginia, NM (Richardson, a Clintonoid), and TN.
If the Dems can't flip a red state, then they can't win. The blue states don't count, except that they have to hold them to even be competitive.
