It was at a new fairly small church...they didn't know much about me, didn't know I had years of training...
I got up there and did that part the first time during rehearsal, no script or anything and when I finished I looked at the director to see what instructions he'd give me and he was just standing there with him mouth hanging open! ROFLOL!! It was hysterical. Even the guy that played Jesus said "Oh my goodness..."
They figured out they could depend upon me and I got all kinds of parts after that...once had a monologue on the 4th of July...was Betsy Ross. They rented a period costume for me and everthing. Then I lost my voice. LOL Not my fault!! I managed it, though...and everyone just thought my voice was full of emotion. (I went and got a cortisone shot to try to get my voice back even!)
