I'm having video problems.... every file I play these days gets a lag between the audio and the video, which gets really, really annoying. And last night the computer just suddenly shut off in the middle of a file. I'm not sure whether it's the player (am going to download a universal player tonight) or something with my hardware.

I get that at random times on different computers&players&OS's usually related to to much else going on in the background. Strictly a performance issue My powerbook will do it if something big is running in the background and my PC will do it if it is in a bad mood. freeing up hard drive space and rebooting seem to be the best fix.
On my PC I use Core Media player. The 'job' keys on that are great because if you do a short jog forward then right backward the sound and video re-syncs. On the Mac there are jog keys like that that also fix the problem or else there is a feature that will allow frame dropping when things get lagged so the video can keep up with the sound.

By 'fuzzy' I meant blurry and by blurry I mean blowing my nose usually fixes the problem temporally.
