We'll probably do something small on the day, and then have a real dinner on Sunday or something when everyone is around.
It'll be better than a lotta other Thanksgivings I've had! Two in particular stand out as lousy, though of course in the scheme of things, I've had a very nice, cushy life.
And one was comical-sad mostly, rather than just bad. I was supposed to be on temporary duty, but was actually at my home base. I could have invited myself over to someone's house, most likely, but I was too shy to. So...I went and got a turkey TV dinner, a box of chocolates, and a good movie. It wasn't so bad.
My Thanksgivings have previously been all the same. Just happy, family events. My mother would get bothered with her mother, usually, but that's about it. Just a nice family time. I'll miss it.
