Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A new road or a secret gate...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Did you ~see~ Woodland Critter Christmas South Park this week? It was really somethin'.It was something other than else. It truly should not be viewed by anyone.

Do you remember if it was VCDs or MPEG's your machine had trouble reading?
To: HairOfTheDog; Ramius
I think it was MPEGs on a data disc that caused problems, so I'm burning it to VCD, along with a couple other Christmas episodes... Red Sleigh Down, and A Very Crappy Christmas.

ARGHHH!
I'm such an idiot! I got the bright idea to make tamales today and was roasting a pork shoulder in a glass plan. After about 2 hours it was looking dry so I poured a pint of water into the pan and BANG! the glass exploded all over the oven and kitchen. There's little bits of glass in the shoulder so I have to throw it out.
agGHHH..Kitchen disasters are the pits!

What a tragedy! Glad you weren't hurt by glass shrapnel! You better be careful barefoot in there for quite some time... and careful about pets.
And... I might add, that animal part looks a little obscene.

Oh, GOd Blass Andy. Did they have to remove the entire leg, or were they able to salvage his knee so that he doesn't have to worry about an artificial joint?

He hasn't really been drawing lately! Just started up when I asked him for help. But another family member is giving him a set of pencils.
I ended up getting him a pair of flannel pajama bottoms for lounging around in, and a HUGH wooden shoe (we used to collect these) that I'm going to fill with goodies.
Also picked up a few other small gifts. Now I'm broke...but pretty well done! Wish I had more for Dad, but that happens every year. *sigh*

Yeah, lady... those metal studded lace-up boots and that metal belt were just *perfect* to wear today. Why not fill the kid's pockets with all kinds of little toys in sixty five little pockets all over the place. Dat's da ticket.Heh...and you know, THOSE are the people whining that the airport security people are SO mean and make life SO inconvenient...

Oh dear...sorry he had to lose the leg! Glad to hear he's doing well otherwise, though. He's in my prayers!

Goodness! Are you ok?
There was a story a couple weeks ago about a guy who got killed in the kitchen by glass shards. ... Of course he was trying to get a lava lamp to flow faster by putting it on the stovetop...
