The Hobbit Hole XVII - A new road or a secret gate...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A new road or a secret gate...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

But Dad would kill me.

He doesn't consider them dogs.

Which is probably smart.

You need a really good used bookstore in town so you could do your shopping there.

Well now, don't you feel bad...

I complained to the eBay seller about finding the items for way less. He let's me know the cheaper ones were damaged, so I said okay, my mistake.

Just got an email that he'd shipped the one I bought. He included another one of the damaged ones for free. As far as I know it's just the paint that's scratched.

We have one (though the paper today announced that it's closing in the spring ARRGH! I'm in mourning!) but Stephen isn't much of a reader, really. So that's not the best place to shop for him.

*sigh*

I think I'm just going to go wander until I see something he'd find interesting.

First have to have breakfast and go to the dump, though. I HATE going to the dump. Lugging vey heavy bags through the cold isn't my idea of fun.

Did I call him names? Hard to remember, I've been on a rampage for the last 24 hours.

Well, um, enjoy yourself... or not...

My plan leaves at 1:30ish... flying out of Dallas around 4... should be home by 9. Of course those are in three different time zones, so I'll be a little confused about time. But I'll see you when I get home!

What are these mystery items, anyway? Or can you not tell us because Jr might snoop?

No, I don't think we called this guy names. He responded pretty quickly.

We saved the names for Amazon and Fandango.

BTW, Amazon says their records say it was delivered yesterday. BUT, they say that Airborne turned it over to the U.S. Postal Service.

I may never see it...

We started a nutcracker collection for him years ago. Couldn't pass this one up.
