The Hobbit Hole XVII - A new road or a secret gate...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A new road or a secret gate...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I haven't listened to actor's commentary yet, the comments I heard about the girlfriend are in the Appendices disks, which we are watching now.

And folks, these appendices are great, great information. I loved the FoTR appendices, and after those, the TTT Appendices felt repetitive, these do not.

LOL...I know what you mean...the fact that Dom makes it a point to protest about it with practically every interview has a tendency to make one think "methinks he doth protest too much!" I havent actually seen a picture of him with any female but his sister, but it could be that he is like Orlando is reportedly to be : extremely protective of his privacy. Which makes me like him that much more.

Now, DOM I would believe...but Billy...either he covers it EXTREMELY well, or he is definitely buttered on the straight side, as it were.

You know, I REALLY REALLY REALLY DON'T want to like Dom...but I do now, little tree hugger that he is... Lawd knows I have tried not to like him. But after seeing him in an episode of Lost and wathing the rest of the LOTR stuff...I'm *almost* willing to hedge a bet that I might be of a higher opinion....maybe....

I note that arrows (when shot into the rough) are even harder to find than golf balls!

Good night, everyone.

Gettin' caught up on paperwork that was vey behind during theproduction.

Been watchin' FOTR.

Nana couldn't sleep so she's asleep in her chair. Wife fell asleep on the couch.

I don't know why we even own beds...

I didn't sleep in my bed the first two years I lived in this house. I slept on the couch until whats-his-name got here. But even now, if I am sleepless, I move out to the couch and I go right to sleep. Why is that?

I dunno. Wife does it because she's a night owl and usually works most nights on school stuff. Nana does it because she can't sleep in her bed, and can sleep better in her chair (so Corin thinks the chair should be in her room...)

I forget how much Nana spent on the bed she has. Got a second hand adjustable (hospital type) bed so she could sit up and sleep. Darn near killed four of us getting it up the stairs.

Now she wants to get a new bed once the house sells. I don't blame her, but that bed in her room isn't coming out. There is physically no way we can get it down the stairs without taking out the chairlift.

She hasn't mentioned it recently, but I know she hasn't forgotten it. I'm not sure what we'll do. But the four of us that moved it up aren't capabale of moving it down.

Thanks LF.

It's just wrong to be up this early. The sun won't even be up for an hour. The east is not even tinged with light yet, it's pitch black out, like midnight.

No way I can metabolize enough caffiene before my test.

Getting them in your yourself, rather than someone else's, is probably also a good thing.

I've always been an early-bird and took 8am classes. My university scheduled 0730 finals for the early classes. It was a campus tradition to wear pajamas (or at least slippers with yer outfit) to the early finals.

8 am classes, I used to have all the time. Then I had night classes and realized I really preferred them. Most days, now, I don't have to be out of bed until nearly 8. That's nice.
