But... it's still a dilemma.

It shouldn't be Jen. ;-)

It's just that it's not, on one level, cheating, since they're not offering me the answers. Just hints on what to study.

Sigh. I can rationalize it to myself a dozen ways - like the fact that we were promised a list of six, not twelve, and then at the last moment had it changed... but it's still rationalizing.

I vote for no. Sure, it's not as bad of a cheat as it would be to get actual answers...but IMO it's still a cheat.

I'm wayyyy overly sensitive about stuff like that, but...

That sequence *alone* should have got it a cinematography Oscar, but noooooo. It wasn't even nominated.

I love the violins in the soundtrack at the beacons scene. Clare and I were just amazed watching the violinists during the Lord of the Rings Symphony in Hartford. Their hands and arms were just blurs as they moved across the strings!

OK, got in 2500 words for today, which was my goal...gosh I wish I could just THINK words onto the page! I don't want the end of this to be rushed or contrived, but...

Luckily I'm only a few chapters shy of finishing! Then I just have to figure out how to make it into a book. It'll be pretty close to 200 pages, if it isn't actually 200.

Time for bed for now, though!

To put it simply Jen. The fact that you even have to question it ought to give you the answer you need.

Good job!

I've only got in about a thousand this evening, but I've got to study, too.

I imagined that they were garrison troops on a rotating duty roster: eight months on the city walls, one month going out to the beacon site, one month on the beacon (three of you, two up and one sleeping in the hut), one month hiking back to M.T., and a month's leave.

Gah, I know, but they shouldn't tempt me. There's such a fine line... I mean, it's apparently ok to get lecture notes, old quizes, and everything off a guy who's taken the class before you have. And then there are professors who say even looking at a classmate's code is cheating. They really need to have hard and fast guidelines, or I'll end up having issues where there aren't issues.

Oh well. As long as I get a passable score on the test I should get an A in that class at least. It's my test tomorrow - at 7 am, by the way, that's just cruel - that is majorly important, because if I get a good enough score I might manage an A rather than A- or (horror) B+. So anyone who's up - that should be all you East Coasties! - remember me in your prayers...

I'm not the moral beacon, I'd take the advantages you are offered in life and be efficient about what you study. There are plenty of times in life you are stuck with an unlucky break... don't refuse the lucky breaks!

I don't know that we were ever told we could pick and choose our temptations...

Now, go study.

Yea, verily! Glad he doesn't have a ruptured disk; bad news they are. Will keep him in prayer for the hip replacement on Friday.

I've been studying! Unfortunately, I have memorized, more or less, eight of the designs and just can't seem to remember the tricky four.

You should see me studying! This afternoon was the first break I took... I have pages and pages in my notebook, drills I've done on myself... printed out slides, everything.

Oh, I'm so glad tomorrow is open book. It's all logic, so if you can't do it the book doesn't help, but I always manage to screw up one step in converting to normal form, so I need the reference. Wish we had that luxury on Thursday, grumble grumble.

Prayers up for you, Jen. Already said my prayers for Paul and David. They had their finals yesterday. David also had a project due, but it should be done by now. He's flying home on Thursday!

Yep, I'll have to do that.

First view interrupted at the part where Frodo's waking up in the orc tower...the c/r has to be up at 5:00. We'll start up again tomorrow eve...but I'll probably do the commentaries alone.

Come to think about it, the actors' comments are the only ones I've listened to all the way through on FotR and TTT...
