Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A new road or a secret gate...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I'm too lazy to do much research, either...which is why I'll probably never write anything like serious period drama or crime novels.
Kids books don't even hafta be logical or explain everything! There is something to be said for that...

Oh... crud...
Don't tell Hair but I've been Over There.
I don't like researching, either. I have one spot that needs an appropriate Bible verse, and another that will take a little research, but mostly I make it up as I go along.

Sure... have plenty. :-)
So... on another note, it's looking like the fix is in and Chrissy-baybay is gonna be governor. [sigh] King county hung back until last, so they knew how many votes to find.
They're not even being bashful about it. They're already admitting that they "found" more "valid" ballots in King county that weren't counted the first two times around.
The mind boggles.

Don't tell Hair but I've been Over There. I have no right to scold, considering all the wandering I've done lately...

Good. We'll be bad together.
Besides, I was meant to go over there.
Huh. I could probably finish off this chapter in another thousand words, and then get to the Really Bad Stuff. I can't wait. It'll probably take ten thousand words just to write it and the consequences. I've been leading up to this... actually using foreshadowing and all that crap.

We'll see.... I saw that thread about the disqualified absentees... I'm on information overload I think.... Sonya baby, Scott Peterson, pin the tail on the Governor.... I've had a big bowl of ecurbh's turkey soup and I am tryptin' out.
But I still am alert enough to notice Jen's been wandering on the dark side ;~D

Heck... Even my lowly self had a post pulled by none other than Jimrob himself. My first post, even. It even merited a personal nastygram from hizzoner. :-) Made me feel special.

BTW, speaking of research...duct tape was invented somewhere around 1942 and was originally called "duck tape"...wasn't changed to duct until later.
Just in case you ever wondered.

I think there needs to be a semi-permanent Protest Outpost constructed on the capitol steps in Olympia.
I'll spring for the plywood and coffee maker. :-)
Ahh... yes, the Capitol steps. Brings back many fond memories there. Dang... I wonder what ever happened to her... uh... nevermind...

Yahknow... I don't even remember what it was about. Some democrat party e-mailing that ended up in my mailbox. So I posted it. It only lasted about two minutes.

Yep. Google is my friend.
Heh...some of the kids in my networking class were asking if they could take the test open book, and one kid said "How about open Google?"
Cracked me up.
