Heh...my youngest brother was 11 lbs. 3 oz. I don't think Mom ever quite forgave him.

The doctor induced Mom a few weeks early with Teresa. He did NOT want a repeat performance

What is wrong with emailing plane tickets for eloping and a diamond catalog to pick one out? Dives for cover...

Yer still single, ain't ya?

It's too bad you have to go, seeing how lousy you feel about the whole thing.

But for bonus points...but do you remember the date when you first asked her out?

Our first "date" was after the homecoming soccer game (soccer was vey big at our school in the 70s). October 13, 1979 (okay it could've been October 20).

FWIW, my entire office planned the engagement. Told me when, where, etc. We tried to figure out a way to do it on a West Wing White House tour, but couldn't make it work.

And, to be totally honest, I drank so much at dinner that I still don't know if I paid the correct amount for the bill. I either gave an outrageous tip or I stiffed the waiter.

Come to think of it, we've never been back to that restaurant...

I always love receptions. Any excuse for parties and dancing in formal wear. I don't get those much. I think the whole thing can be done in a fun way without being overly complicated. It is all about streamlining. Got places to go and things to do after all.

I'm sure at least SOME of it will be fun...

Looking back, at least...

Seriesly, it's probably good for me. I abhor crowds and fancy ceremonies where embarrassing things could happen and loud gatherings of strangers; and maybe I need to get better at that, I dunno.

Just wish it was cheaper and closer to home!

And even if things go horribly wrong, it's not your wedding, right?

True!

But I am part of the ceremony!

I'd rather not be the part that goes horribly wrong...

You won't be. You'd have to strip and run down the aisle in your underwear screaming for anyone to notice.

I have discovered that loud gathers of strangers are excellent fun if you are the loudest and or the strangest. Me and the crew had a blast at our friend's wedding when he made the mistake of sitting us all at the same table. buwahahahaa. Ok yeah I guess that principle is really that parties are more fun with a good crew to hang out with. Make sure you get to sit with people you can relax with and you will have much more fun.

See...what scares me is that I will know about two people there...not many going from my family.

So relaxing will be hard!

It probably won't be nearly as dreadful as I'm imagining ahead of time, though. I'm very, very good at imagining horribly situations.

It probably will help me if I continue to write...but in real life, it's rather a bother...

Just be ready with the teargas, wire-cutters, a fire extinguisher.

To: no one in particular

Latest roadblock in Teresa's story...coming up with an everyday or easily obtainable item that would be unique and interesting and/or valuable in the magic world.

WHY do I write myself into corners?
