Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A new road or a secret gate...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Ok, I have a question for you guys:
How can anyone consider it "weird" to listen to Christmas albums that are actually, you know, about that Jesus person?
I was telling two of my friends, who are supposed to be Christians, about this new Christmas album I'm listening to, "Behold the Lamb of God", and how it might just be my favorite album this year. Just because it has a song that's the geneology of Jesus, and one about Passover, sort of, doesn't make it weird. Right?

I took the jedis shopping this evening...just to pick out what they wanted to get Steve for Christmas. Joshua picked out a pushbroom and Matthew picked out an OSU tie. Hope Steve doesn't look in here, or else there goes the surprise! ;-)

I'm listening to An Irish Christmas as we type...lovely violin and whistle playing The First Noel.

Naval? I thought that was Bugs Bunny.

My favorite: Whoever said "Sighted sub, sank same". That's right up there with "Veni, vidi, vici" for short, sweet and to the point.

Just kidding.... of course it isn't!

Heh, I get tired of "Winter Wonderland" and even Mannheim Steamroller after a while. Singing something to remind me of the real reason for the whole shebang is nice.

Sounds quite reasonable to me!
That's one thing I like about the station I tend to listen to on the way to work and back...they aren't at all shy about playing actual CHRISTmas songs. The other station I sometimes listen to doesn't play ANYTHING that hints at the real reason for the holiday...

Beach house at Christmas... We didn't get ALL the Christmas trimmings up, started too late, but we got a lot done!

I'm impressed!
What a beautiful place!
I haven't put up lights. Don't think I will manage it this year. Again.
*sigh*
I often wonder what my neighbors must think of me.

So few of my neighbors have lights up. It's sad. Don't they feel Christmas-y?
It's different for people like you, who spend Christmas with the family. They'll have decked the halls, right?

My whole neighborhood has gone all out this year! Much moreso than in the past. A lot of run-down houses sold and people spiffed them up and now they're looking really nice. The neighborhood is really looking good!
