Not that this is either good OR literature...
Kewl!
Full speed ahead, and damn the torpedoes!
It makes sense to me, but then I have to go through the same process! Lol...
I'm glad he'll have some time to spend with you guys!
My characters do a lot of talking. And yelling. Very little action. We'll be at 70k before the Great Big Bad Thing that is the hinge of my story occurs, and then it'll take at least 50k to write out of that to the ending. That will make it quite novel-lengthed...
Dueling drumsticks? Fistfight over nice molasses cookies?
yeah! Why not?
The Black Bottom Cake is gone. *sigh*
Mine do a lot of worrying. Or Katy does. The others...we dunno, 'cause it isn't from their viewpoint.
I should be at 60k within the next two days. And I'd hoped to wrap it up somewhere near there, but unless I really push it, it'll be more like 65k, I'm thinking. I hope. If it goes much longer than that, I'll REALLY need to cut stuff, plus I won't finish in time.
I have no clue what I'm doing with punctuation a lot of the time. I should review my old textbooks, I guess.
LOL! I love it! I'm claiming that as my tag line for a while!
:-)
The one punctuation tic you seem to have is sometimes you place the punctuation outside of the quotes:
"Let's go", he said. - Should be
"Let's go," he said.
I thought it was "Damn the torpedos, full speed ahead"?
And who said it anyway?
I think I'm overcoming that one...did it a lot a few years ago and got repeatedly slapped on the hand for it (figuratively, that is).
Now...should that period be after the )?
Heh...I guess this is why God invented editors. Or inspired someone to, anyway. ;-)
Like I say, it's still possible for him to finish in May...he is going to speak to his advisor after he finishes this class...We'll know more then.
This has been one dreadful semester, though...just this one class. He stood in the kitchen with me this morning before church and said "This is the hardest class I've ever taken."
Looks like he's gonna get a B in it...that's just fine! It's the nicest B he's ever got, I'm sure!
Admiral Farragut, New Orleans, Civil War.
Yeah, you're right...guy named Farragut said it that way. I never knew this Farragut guy. I do, however, have an aquaintence with Mr. Cree. I'll quote it his way! LOL!!!
A good "B", a fixed oven, and a car that runs...what else do ya need? :)
don't quote me - but I believe that depends. If you end the sentence inside the (), put the period in there. If it's just a fragment, the period can go outside....
Editors are goooood...
Thank you!
I was think WW1, I guess I hadn't realized torpedoes were invented so early.
