Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A new road or a secret gate...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

That number is probably the alloy of aluminum. I don't know the aluminum numbers well. The stuff around 2018 is a normal decently strong grade of aluminum. Can't say much else about it. We did not spend much time on aluminum in materials class. I had to check my old text book toe be sure that was an alloy number. I could be wrong if they are using some dimension number that is close to a normal AL alloy but I don't know of a unit of measure they that makes sense with that number.

Well if we lived on top of the hill we would all get cold. It's a bit drafty up there.
Nope, the hole is definitely the way to go.

Hobbits - fantasy creatures from J.R.R Tolkien's epic "The Lord of the Rings."
Hole - hobbits live in holes. Not nasty dirty wet holes, filled with the ends of worms, nor yet a dry sandy hole with nothing to eat and nothing to sit on. Hobbit holes - and that means comfort.
Basically we just hang out and chat. What we have in common is a love of Tolkien. And conservatism, since we're on FR.

LOL- OK I admit I was trolling for cranks- you should have seen the fun last time I said something like that.
I think I joined in the middle of a serious discussion of Middle-Earth and asked "you guys know this is make-believe, right?"
Hilarity ensued.

Make-believe??? What is this that you are saying... ???
Clearly you weren't at Entmoot. Sorta like Woodstock, only with dwarves.

You'll get a kick out of this...
I took my brand new Fruits Basket manga, which was just released, to anime club tonight. It was stolen by six seperate people. I had to threaten one girl's life to get it back. It elevated me to "cool" status among people who don't sit in my row. (The ones who do, know I'm cool. I sing along with the openers and make rude jokes)
Also I think I need a MegaTokyo shirt, or maybe the "Anime: crack is cheaper" shirt.

er.. as I was saying, taking manga to viewings = very dangerous. Good for otaku points, bad for continuing to own manga. hehe
I just started picking up the FB manga last time I was at the book store. Only 1&2 so far. I have too many manga series I am working on. It can make barnes&noble runs deadly.

I love the manga just as much as the anime. True, the wonderful voices aren't there, but the stories end up being deeper... and it goes further. I believe the anime only covers the first half of the manga volumes.
I don't trust otaku who don't like FB....
Oh, and I'm trying to persuade them to show all of Fullmetal Alchemist at our lock-in next semester. True, we'd need to be locked in for the entire weekend and then people would start to smell funny...

I hate it when I crawl into bed and it turns out I am wide awake. This laptop is not making me sleepier. Maybe I have a lullaby on here someplace....

Have I ever mentioned FB is one of the only anime that has given me a important life lesson that I still remind myself of? It is that you should never be resentful or jealous of someone for a trait you admire. Kinda simple but FB really pointed it out in a clear and interesting way.

Sometimes I think everything I learned in the last four years I learned from anime. Granted, it's things like "don't try to revive dead people" and "even an assassin can reform", but still, it's life lessons.
Erm, don't mind me. I'm suddenly de-stressing here, and reading my lovely MegaTokyo Volume 1 (I got it to share with the sisters, they're too impatient to read it online. Honest!) and I'm just slight weird tonight.

and I'm just slight weird tonight. Well, recognising your own situation is the first step. One down, eleven to go. :-)
