Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A new road or a secret gate...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Well, jeepers!
We are trying to get motivated to do something ~between~ "nothing" and "too much" today.
Did you see the post from winmag wanting to expand our troop support stuff to new thread? Hoping to attract a wider group of donors and ideas to send out? I am thinking about it today, I think weekends aren't the best time to start a new thread, when it is so slow here... so I thought I'd mull it over and maybe post it Monday. That OK Rick?

I've often wondered if we might could get more done joining up with PatriciaRuth's group. She's got a large group of folks sending packages. I dunno though...
Haven't really thought it through.
I have 21 minutes left.

Matthew wants this computer. The weather is nice, so I imagine I'll go home and get as many clothes on the line as I can! :-)
See you later!

That one gets me every time, too. Aragorn's is good, but Theoden's still sends a shiver down my spine every time I view it. Me too! That's the one that gets me up and hollaring along with 'em...though I try to restrain myself when there's company present.
There's just something about the Rohirrim that is beyond cool. I think is the fact that they're basically Vikings on horseback...really gets my blood goin'!

Safe in Kuwait. 22 soldiers out a year ago, and 22 returned today. Thank everyone for the support. More to follow. Good to hear! Keep in touch!

I am thinking about it today, I think weekends aren't the best time to start a new thread, when it is so slow here... so I thought I'd mull it over and maybe post it Monday. Can we get some sort of presence on the FR home page, like Freeper Foxhole and Vet's Canteen? It's all a matter of attracting enough traffic that others beside us in the Hobbit Hole are talking and throwing out ideas and suggestions. We're still a backwater of FR because folks thing we're weird, even for FR.
I'll try to get some new product reviews ready, and rewrite some of the old ones. But we want to invite others to contribute ideas, too. Or ask questions. There is no such thing as a stupid question, unless it's asked by a RAT.

Back from MoveMoot (in time for the Busch race)! Thanks lots OB and LSA! You can really get a lot of stuff in that Highlander: 2 bookcases and nearly all my books are the biggest moving job. We made a couple of runs and then broke for lunch.
Ruthy...guess where we went. :) We were thinking of you.
They got to meet Miss Cat even though she was hiding under the comforter all the time. Osage likes the workbench in the garage.
Think I'll knock off t he moving for now and try to catch up on word count.

Heh. I got a $25 gift card at Home Depot from the Real Estate Guy in the mail today. Now I can replace the door thingie.
To: Overtaxed
Dang, that's good! Much better than a brass address plate or a bouquet. A proper closure thingy is a fitting use of the card, too. LSA
