The Hobbit Hole XVII - A new road or a secret gate...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A new road or a secret gate...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

LOL!! You'd think they'd have that figured out by now!

I think I'm going to have to do some serious experimenting to confirm that report...

I would do my best to avoid charging the repair against a credit card, 2J, unless you can pay it off the very first month, which is fine...because after that they charge 18% I think, it's easy to get way behind in debt on that kind of a loan.

I hate putting more money in a car than the car is worth, since that money is in a sense unrecoverable, but sometimes it could be the least expensive, and thus logical, way to go. Kind of like paying rent on housing.

That is soooo awesome.

Why couldn't they have figured this out when I was a kid?

Pray that it doesn't cost more than $300-500 to fix it...because that's all we can afford to pay out of pocket...and even that would make things unbearably tight for about a month. I won't even do that until after Christmas.

If it's $700 or so...there's no way we'll be able to pay for it. The car would just sit till Steve graduates and gets another job. Unless we charged it, which I really hate to do...

See why I'm feeling so lost?

Well, the general consensus here in the Hole is "Find out what's wrong". No sense worrying about anything else till after I know what I'm up against.

I mean, what if it was something minor and silly? It probably won't be, but there's a chance...

Any chance the auto place would let you pay in installments?

I doubt it. I'd be too embarrassed to ask. If he tells me it's $600, I'd just bring the car home and save up that much then take it back in when I had it.

Mmm... that's tough. I am so glad my warranty covers almost everything that could go wrong with my car. I'm terrified the engine will break or something and I'll have to get it fixed...

And hey, I almost prayed that hurricane down to a gentle breeze...I bet I could pray this car problem down to a minor silly thing!

Family Christmas portrait taken! There were a LOT of out-takes... Animal photography problems...

Now I just have to draw our little hats... and figure how to get the cat in there.... ;~D

This is a rather nice "dream effect" in Photoshop... This is now my desktop :~D

And I rather like this one of me leading all three horses out...

The first thing I thought of when I looked at the "dream effect" photo was coming back to reality when the dentitst takes the gas mask off my face.
