Originally from PA-Dutch country - (hence the profile flag), but I'm all over the place.
I'm on Active Duty for now, but I'm a Guardsman. And I've been FReeping for some time before deciding on a name - it just fits.
But, I'd rather jump in with the Hobbit Hole. I like writing, and have done a lot of short stories. I'm told I write in a "Tolkienesque" style - which i take as high praise!
It was just a pumpkin spice latte...

A writer and a soldier! Well this is a special occasion! We should break out a bottle of the old wineyards, I think we have a few bottles left!
Many here fancy themselves as writers, Jen and Rosie and a few others are writing in a NaNoWammy thing maybe they'll tell you about... It has something to do with writing a bunch of crap. Every year they spend the month of November doing that. ;~D
You like writing! Cool. A new victim - er, member, of my special bug-list. Every November I convince as many of my fellow hobbit hole dwellers as are stupid enough to take me up on it, to participate in National Novel Writing Month - nanowrimo.org - and write a 50,000 word story in a month. Some of us are in the middle of that right now.
What sort of stories do you write? Fantasy?
