If you still need a blog place, LiveJournal's pretty nice - don't know if you can just sign up but if not I should be able to get you an invite.

I planned to get up early and write. Ha. Instead, I woke up sick. Sore throat, congestion. Lovely.

Thanks...I may check LiveJournal out. I tried setting something up on blogger, but I'm not entirely satisfied with the format.

Sorry you aren't feeling well! I think I may be catching the illness that's got a lot of people out here. I've got a walloping headache, or in any case the beginnings of one. Starting to want to avoid light.

Noooo! Not the Yellowface! It burns us, it burrrrns us!

Looks like LiveJournal has a coupla levels, and the most basic one is free. How much it really gives you at that level, I'm not sure. But I'll look at it.

It gives you a place to post, and you can do things with the color scheme and such.

Oh, and if you'd rather just have your story online somewhere, I've got web space and if you email me your docs I can put them up the way I've been doing mine. And I intend to put up a pretty interface sometime soon.

I don't like Nicholas Cage - he has dead eyes - and the plot looked really dumb.

That's all right. I love action movies, and besides, Sean Bean is nice eye candy!

I'm wearing my elephant tie...

Good for you! Joseph attends an all boys Catholic high school, and their 'uniform' is coat and tie. A good friend whose son is in his class found some ties with stars and stripes elephants all over it. He's worn it for the last couple of weeks, and especially on election day!

I do have a little bit of website, but it's limited...I may just bug you later this month!

I also want to read your first chapter. I haven't yet...but did download it for easier access.

I put my first few days' worth up on my space. Not very interesting...like I said, it's just a very ordinary journal with far too much of myself in it. But here it is...

I have a feeling I'll be inroduced to you and hear you called "Emily" or whatever, and turn around and call you "Rosie".

I've met Rosie in person on at least four occasions, Entmoot included, have known her real name for over a year, and I STILL call her Rosie when I'm with her!! It's easier for me cause my screen name was my nickname when I was younger.

*chuckle*

I think it's the fate of most internet nicks, few of them fail to cross over into the physical world. When my friends get together, I end up answering to Empress, Emp, E, EC and other such variations even more commonly than my first name.

It was funny at entmoot, when people would use screennames and real names pretty much interchangably... I never could remember to call Ramius anything but Ramius, even if I remembered other people's names. Wonder why that was.

It was funny, but totally comfortable!

Were you in the room when some of us were testing the theory that people would respond quickly to either? We were just calling out screen names now and then in the conversation to see if people looked up... "Hey, OT!" ;-)

I'm glad I picked a name I like...

I think so! And honestly I still think of everyone by their screen name, even now that I have faces and voices to go with it.

Ugh, but I feel bad. I just want to go home and curl up under my blankets.

Is today a long day for you, or will you be able to get home and rest soon? Sore throats are the worst!

I'm just zonked. Dunno why I'm so tired. Tuesday night catching up with me, I guess.

But I got in 800 words during lunch. Woo-hoo!

Too bad I can't count my other story. I added some to that last night. Like I said, writing about dragons is much more fun than furniture. But...too late to think of a new plot now.

Well, I ought to come back after class but I don't know. I hope I won't be too down to go to anime club tonight.

And I need to work on finding car insurance, and my story...

Ugh...car insurance. Hope you find a good deal!

Speaking of cars, Margaret had yet ANOTHER bad experience with the car the other day. For once it wasn't a flat, but she was on the interstate driving along and the engine cut out completely - dead. She pulled over right away and smoke started POURING from under the hood. None of us have cell phones (and they barely work anyway), but luckily she wasn't far from an exit (a miracle around here!) and was able to get to a gas station - a girl gave her a ride part of the way - and call Dad.

I would have handled it much worse, I think! She was scared, but nothing completely rattles her. I probably woulda just sat down on a rock and cried...

They don't know yet what's wrong with the van. Hope it's nothing serious!

Oh, wonderful. I always take my cell phone when I'm in the car so I can call for help in an emergency.

I'd have been freaking out, too...
