I have been away from Free Republic for a while but did not turn up any discussion of Kerry's shameless lie to a voter group in Wisconsin a couple of weeks ago where by he informed the group to the effect that he has always hunted, that he "crawls through the woods with his trusty double barrel shotgun in pursuit of deer" and that his military training was helpful to him in this pursuit. Anyone who has the least knowledge of deer hunting knows this is method not likely to produce success and that a double barrel shotgun is the worst choice of firearms in that, even in shotgun only states, a double barrel with throw slugs to a different point of impact from each barrel and that single barrel pumps or semi autos would be much more suitable. No doubt the hunters in the audience were more convinced than ever that Kerry is not only anti gun and anti hunting but that he is a lying anti gun, anti hunting liberal Strange that I have never seen this reported anywhere by the national media or by any network. I picked it up in a small article in the daily Oklahoman.
Kerry's a "Tool"...what's worse is that so many will vote for him regardless of what he says, does, or already has done....such as Treason.
His actions after leaving Vietnam (he was there you know) in meeting with leaders of the enemy while still in the military himself...he should be in prison making little rocks out of big rocks at best!!
He crawls on his belly like a reptile...
Don't know about the media but there's a pro-gun group running anti-Kerry ads mocking that little gaffe here in Colorado.
I posted a comment about this a while back but got no response. How moronic is it of sKerry to say he "crawled on the ground, playing mind games with his quarry, using decoys..." The double-barreled shotgun aside, who would crawl on the ground when deer hunting, he`d make so much noise the deer would point at him laugh, then run away. Any quasi-intelligent hunter would use a tree-stand or a "nest" with some musk to cover their scent. Who plays mind games? And the use of decoys is illegal in most states unless it`s in BOW season isn`t it?(Almost positive it IS in PA)corrections anyone? I`m not an avid hunter, but isn`t his idiocy apparent?
The press is still busy lambasting Bush 41 for not knowing how to operate a supermarket scanner. Nobody expects Kerry to know how to operate a shotgun. If Kerry was any good with a shotgun, would Teresa still be around?
I have never hunted in my life, but even I know a few basics about deer hunting. (correct me if I'm wrong)
- You put a tree stand in a forest somewhere a few weeks before hunting day?
- You try to mask your scent while you sit up on your perch waiting (hoping) the critters will wander by?
- Then you *poink* 'em with a .22 type rifle since the meat is ruined when too many shotgun pellets are in it?
I think I learned all this just from looking at a hunting catalog once.
The double-barreled shotgun - in Cajun country it's called a "twice-barrel" shoot-gun"!!!
- You either get a tree stand or stalk the woods on foot. You can also join up with other hunters and do a 'drive'.
- Some people mask, others don't give a damn.
-.22 rifles are too small to legally use on deer. Some states allow .223, but others require larger, more powerful rounds. Also, some states only allow shotguns due to terrain / population density /etc.
Yeah, boy.
