He's still a cheapskate. The jewelry store just bartered free national advertising for 50,000 (retail - probably 35-40K actual) in diamonds. Is the IRS knocking on the apprentices doors yet??

Good point. But at least the contestants got something out of it. Of course they'll have to pay taxes on the merchandise.

I think Trump set Chris up. Chris opened his big mouth last week and it really annoyed Trump's side of the table. So what does Trump do? He makes Chris team leader and cooks up a task for which Chris' team was hugely disadvantaged, lol! And Carolyn was ready for the charge, too, quickly swatting it down the instant it was brought up.

I'm no fan of Chris, but I think he should've seized on this point and not it let go. I mean, he was right; he was put in an almost impossible situation -- deliberately. By Trump himself.

It's like watching a rigged game. Which is okay, I guess. If you're into that. Oops, gotta go. WWF is coming on! :-)

I'm catching up reading posts since last week before getting to last night's episode.

I believe Raj made the decision to go to 3 bedrooms from 4 by knocking down a wall and making one bedroom larger. *In addition* they added the bath...it was NOT a bedroom made into a bathroom. Plus the newly large room was weirdly long and it simply was not a good idea, what Raj did there.

The unfinished bathroom was awful, needless to say.

And once Raj made that creepy and repellent come-on to Robin I was glad to see the last of him (if I wasn't already convinced it was time for him to go).

OK, now to last night. My daughter and I watch the show together and our jaws clanked to the floor when Ivana had the nerve to say that all Chris did was complain.

I wasn't impressed by Chris' job, but coming from the likes of her when all she does is criticize and complain, well, even though we agreed Chris should be fired we were tantalized when the Donald threatened to fire HER.

All in good time....all in good time.

We like Kevin.

I think Andy gets an undeserved and constant bad rap from his colleagues and he seems to me to contribute more than many of them.

You and the rest of the contestants.

Seems a silly criteria to constantly harp on at this stage when he has proven himself time and again.

Raj?!

I would not rank him as a serious contender to run a company.

What I was referring to last week was Trump, I think, was wrong with the 4 bedroom remark....true if it already had an upstair bath....Trump didn't realize that a young family with little kids would not relish the thought of going up and down stairs in the middle of the night to take a child to the bathroom...the layout was not family friendly...of course Raj didn't explain that and it didn't help Raj that the bathroom was uncompleted.....

Speaking of free national advertising, that Bernadette who owns a bridal shop that the losing team contacted and she ended up advising them, she was great and I'll bet she attracts many clients due to her appearance on the program last night.

What I was referring to last week was Trump

I know. We (my daughter and I) agreed with his opinion and knew Raj would be fired before the boardroom even started last week. Trump's problem wasn't with adding the bathroom (he thought that was a good idea), it was that it wasn't done, plus the stupid decision (there is no way around it---it was dumb) to make one bedroom bigger by losing another bedroom.

Trump liked the idea of adding the extra bathroom--but it wasn't done when it should have been, and that was due to the poor choice of contractors (yes, Kevin picked, but Raj OK'd).

The bathroom was not put in place (such as the progress was) of the 4th bedroom, it was *in addition* to enlarging one bedroom at the expense of losing a 4th bedroom.

Chris was all talk and no action. He certainly did not fix the problem of disatisfaction on this team.

The #1 thing a good leader does is remove obstacles from his team's ability to excel. He/she sets a vision (even for "small" projects) and establishes the direction

Good description of leader's job. Which of the PMs has come close to it? Kelly. Andy. Maria has bleeped up in a dozen ways, but was a good PM in the clothing-business show.

So far, I like Kelly and Andy as the final two. But Andy's inexperience is going to trip him up bigtime somewhere along the way, and I think Kelly will win. Andy seems to be a good choice for a creative company, an ad agency perhaps. But doesn't have the gravitas to run construction or real estate projects.

Maria has too many flaws and will exit soon. Sandy has been surprisingly effective since her over-decorating error in the restaurant competition. Jennifer has promise, but she's been bogged down in the mud with her terrible team and it would seem that if she were really a topnotch leader, she would have found a way to excel anyway. Perhaps she did this time by deciding and following through on the idea (hers?) to talk to bridal shop owners in person. But no one on that team seriously considered the problem of bringing people to the store, which should have been at least half the focus of the team from the get-go. That failure was idiotic and casts them all in a bad light.

Wes, Ivana and Kevin are not leaders. The game is Kelly's to lose.

This Apprentice lacks the pizzazz of last season. There's just no chemistry between the contestants. I guess it's difficult for producers to figure out in advance who's going to click with whom. (Maybe they counted on womanizing Raj to try to seduce one of the grrrrrrls. He and Maria would have made a gorgeous couple.) But last time the unexpected good-buddy friendship between Troy and Kawaame was endearing to watch. It brought out the best in both of them. And the sexy chemistry between Amy and that curly-red=headed fellow added another level of interest for viewers. By forming bonds, those contestants gave the audience an up-close and personal look at who they were, and the audience got involved more fully, had someone to root for. I cannot imagine any two of this year's crew buddying up, watching each other's backs, cuddling, dancing seductively. No way. But still, the competition is compelling and I'll continue to watch every week.

On Survivor this season (another Mark Burnett show), contestants are all miserable ugly stupid jerks. When there's no one to root for, shows sag, viewer interest lags.

On to Amazing Race next week! I never care who wins it, just love the travelogue.

Good analysis. I agree about the kid's lack of experience. This Apprentice lacks the pizzazz of last season. There's just no chemistry between the contestants

They had chmistry all right, just BAD chemistry. The women (girls) HATED each other at first sight. They haven't even formed lasting coalitions. I about LMAO when Carolyn told them she was ashamed to be a businesswoman.

I agree last season was MUCH MUCH better. Stacie J is no Omarosa (sp?).

And I too am looking forward to The Amazing race. Best unscripted show out there. I've never seen "Survivor."

That's funny, I was just thinking that I was ready for TAR to start again soon.

'Survivor' seems to be dominated by females I can't identify with and there is little chemistry in 'The Apprentice' this year.

I think that Kelly, Jennifer and Andy have the best chance though. Those women have satbotaged themselves by rarely being able to work together effectively. I thought this task was a bit unfair because Sandy was a ringer in this one. Don't know if that was to get rid of Chris. Too bad they were unable to figure out any decent marketing plan.

Definitely agree with you on the final two. George is backing the kid up and as we saw with Kwame/Troy a Harvard degree goes a long way. I remember George once saying how much "raw potential" Andy had. Woe to the person that goes after Andy if George is in the boardroom.

Kelly was in an excellent position as opposing PM to Chris. They knew Chris would be PM that's why Andy and Kelly both wanted the job. A person like Chris can't lead people like the team he had. Like trying to herd cats.

I don't like Jennifer she keeps selling people out. It seems like she's promised to back people up in the boardroom and then blindsided them 3 or 4 times. This is Apprentice not Survivor.

Chris was right that team is a bunch of dogs. I don't think I would take any of them over the worst member of the other group. I would love to see Andy, Kevin, and Ivana in a boardroom. Those are the three worst finger pointers. They are also all hyper-defensive. Did Trump purposely set up a strong vs. weak team? If so then an excellent opportunity is at hand for someone to lead the weaker team to victory and make huge gains for himself. Perhaps letting the weak team choose a member of the stronger and seeing if that makes a difference same as Amy last season. If Andy or Kelly take that shot and wins he's cemented himself into the finals.

Saw an interview with Carolyn on some "magazine" type show. She runs one of Trump's golf courses. That would be a job similiar to what Bill is doing. My take is that in Trump's world if you aren't running in the real-estate or casino divisions you aren't one of the big boys. I would say she's nowhere near as important as the show makes her out to be. Earlier this year she endorsed one of the women in the closed-door session (Trump, George, and Her) of the boardroom to Donald. Then when they talked to the final three again and fired the one she endorsed she pulled a 180 and said that it was "the obvious choice".

Isn't that the first time that someone has brought three to the boardroom? I had a sneaking suspicion that Trump was going to pull that when someone finally did

Yep -- all the other project managers only brought two, which drove Donald crazy. He couldn't understand why they wouldn't want to dilute their chances of getting fired.
