Here is the sad part about that fish: After I caught it and reeled it in, and posed for the pic, I was about to put it back in the water. The guide said no, can't do that, State Law. After a fish has been caught and netted, they cannot be released because they will just die anyway from weakness and old age being so close to the spawning area. Basically, that fish lived his whole life waiting to return upstream to spawn, and I caught him just a few hours shy of his ultimate goal.

So I conked him over the head with a pipe, then ate him.

In this neck of the woodz they wait until they get in streams and creeks and them shoot or spear them. Saves on carrying a fish pole and bonking pipe.

Actually they all taste good if you get them before they start decaying and sloughing all over.
