Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner there may wait...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

That stuff amazes me... couple of johnny jihads get a mortar up... pop off a shot... and by the time it hits apogee there is a 155 somewhere swingin' around with a soldier about to yank the lanyard.
Cool...

Yep, all doors are in. Still some framing to put in, and the new post needs to be anchored to the floor. Then the divider between the two stalls (Bay and the pony are still sharing a double stall).

Congrats, another "skill set" successfully mastered. Congrats.
To: Rose in RoseBear
Marine Infantry Battalion has about 1200 at full strength, most are between 900-1,000
Army is different if'n yer talkin' mech, leg, airborne or air assault...

Yes, just happened again (third time today). It's not as bad when I'm awake. But it's bad enough.

Varies by unit and unit strength, but in my artillery unit my battery had 150 people roughly, four firing batteries in the battalion.
150 x 4 = 600
That's not counting the motor sections, ammo sections, and other support personnel.
(And maybe forgetting the headquarters 'battery'..)

Heh...that wouldn't be a purty site.
Maybe I'll have one of these at church tomorrow night. Then again, we're Pentecostal.
They'd either try to lay hands on me, or try to interpret the "gift."
To: g'nad
I did do some readback to see what what wuz up there... very nicely handled... :-) I especially like the good old fashioned root-cause analysis there... paraphrased:
dink: "But I don't want to..."
you: "It is not important what you want..."
'zactly. :-) Makes me smile.
