Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner there may wait...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

It's apparently bow hunting season here. Saturday I was out at the house alone, so I went on a tromp in the woods. Went way up through the hills and back down by a snowmobile trail and was almost to the road when I came across a guy parking his truck in the bushes...had a bow and a quiver of arrows slung on his back. I'm not sure he was that pleased to see me...heh...I don't THINK I scared anything off...
But I guess we won't be going up there for a bit. Most of the guys hunting are pretty responsible, but there's always one or two a year that shoot first and check what they're shooting later. I'd rather NOT come across those particular guys.

Maybe when they saw you were going to be their sub, they adopted the motto "I feel much better since I gave up hope."
;-)
Good morning...jedis are doing Bible class right now.

Heh.... Usually bow hunters are shooting at close enough range to certainly identify their target, but I worry about riding my tan horses out in the woods this time of year, regardless.

Morning. Yawn. Weaker caffeine? You're a better woman than I am.
I write for fun, and do NaNoWriMo for fun, but I'm series about being a published author someday. Fortunately in SF and fantasy you don't have to always have a social-correct message or anything...

For the bow hunters, I'm more worried about gettin' 'em mad at me for scaring something off.
But some of the guys that hunt with rifles aren't so careful. There's almost always an incident or two a year. Rarely anything serious, for whatever reason. Guess they don't tend to be good shots...

what hair said... bow hunters are usually less dangerous than rifle hunters... but yuh definitely don't want tuh get hit by a modern broadhead... you'll bleed tuh death in seconds...
you shouldn't havetuh to stop yer walks during bow season if'n yuh wear a blaze orange vest and hat...
rifle season is another matter entirely...

So add "g'nad" to "Tests" and "mystery meat" on the list of things that mean there will always be prayer in school?

But if I actually FINISHED something and thought it was OK, I guess I MIGHT try to go somewhere with it. So far, that's never happened. I'm much better at starting than at finishing!
