Eleventh Thread: Wedding Edition: The Hobbit Hole XI - No One Admitted Except on Wedding Business!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
thanks. Hmm. I need some cool things to do locally with my elf-boy and bittygirl for Monday and Tuesday. The Zoo maybe?
Congrats! I could use a couple weeks like that...hmmm
4 hours? eek. Get some sleep!
Don't ferget, we got an extra room you can use for as many days as you want... if'n you don't mind staying in a cardboard house.
Morning G'nad -
"So long as the new moon returns in heaven a bent, beautiful bow, so long will the fascination of archery keep hold of the hearts of men." Maurice Thompson - The Witchery of Archery 1878.
Brrrrr.....gotta see about getting TheNewHouse insulated...
Even if you don't really want the birthday, remember it's a day for people to celebrate you, and that ought to happen at least once a year.
When people like you, there's only one alternative to having a birthday.
And even then, those closest to you will remember...
I saw the perfect HH card the other day. It had a picture of a wizard on the front and said:
"Gandalf sent you a birthday card."
Inside it said...
"You were really excited. Gosh you're such a geek!"
Well, I'm back.
Good weekend. I'll post some pictures and more stuff later. Not feeling so hot. Prolly just tired.
Virginia Tech managed to squeak by Florida A&M. 62-0.
Happy Birthday Rosie! (Mine is next Saturday.)
Jen that is a great way to think about birthdays. I really enjoy getting together and whatnot. The thing that makes me feel like a kid again is whenever anyone asks me what I want for my birthday.
All my female cousins are teasing me this year. I get to make my first mamogram appointment after this birthday. Youch!
FYI - I did find out that my cousin's son (Josh), got the knife and packages. He hasn't had the opportunity to respond. He's been in some of the most intense fighting in and around Baghdad.
My cousins (two are missing). Couple in front are my dad's only living sister and her husband.
Hey... looks like a fine time was had.
And Happy Birthday to Rosie!!! :-)
I have decided to watch TTT today. Haven't seen it in quite a while.
Pippin wants to know where you want him to put the bowling ball he brought for you.
Looks like fun!
Just got back from the department picnic and softball game. The softball game was aborted when one of the professors fell down, popped his shoulder out, and may or may not have had a mini-seizure-type event. Um. Fortunately there was a firehouse with ambulance literally a hundred yards away so we got help immediately.
Other than that it was fun... nice to chat with some of the faculty types outside of a classroom setting.
As a result of me writing the local Army National Guard and telling them how much we appreciate them, (as many of you know) the jedi family and my eldest's webelos troop were invited to tour the Black Hawk Unit here in Tulsa. Here are some pictures.
My husband (waving) with one of the other dads...

Excellent! Most cool! I bet all your webelos kids were thrilled beyond believe.
Hm... well, I've just increased my program's efficiency by an order of magnitude; it's gone from taking 7 hours to run to taking about 10 minutes. However I think I've got a program here that learns how to LOSE tic-tac-toe. Drat.
What a memory... they'll remember that for a long time...
I know I'll never forget it.
I'm writing a thank you note to the commander and enclosing a HH Knife. He wouldn't accept one in person, said he didn't deserve one!!
Oh, and yesterday evening... four Black Hawks flew right over the house...one every ten minutes. It was great. None circled, but we waved nonetheless.
