New bed for vampires?
Good evening all. My plans got changed so here I am again, at home alone. Oh well.
not alone exactly. Ya got us! hehe
I am just hanging with the laptop, some Killian's and some borrowed Farscape DVDs.
Nice... I ought to work on my coding here...
Yeah and I should catch up on some classes... ah well, later
Hmm... well, my program is sort of working but the algorithm seems to be implemented wrong...
what does it do?
I'm running the full version to figure out... it's supposed to learn to play tic-tac-toe but it seems to be winning only as often as luck would have it.
However I've only been running it for 10,000 games. We're supposed to run it for 500,000, which is what I'm doing now.... eight minutes in and it's not done.
Well in 2% of the total time I would not expect to have it learn much. How long does 50k take?
No clue, it hasn't finished running yet. A Very Long Time is my best guess.
I could really do with a perfect score on this assignment... and not having to worry about it tomorrow would be nice, too.
Now at 20 minutes and counting....
Heh...Margaret hasn't a great coupla weeks either. She's had FOUR flat tires (and not the same one - not all on the same vehicle, even) since she got her driver's license a few months ago, starting the DAY she got it. She swears she does nothing odd, and at this point she's so paranoid she's avoiding dirt roads for the most part and flinches if you even mention the word "tire".
Meanwhile, the word has gotten out at the hospital where she and Dad work, and people keep coming up to her and asking if she's managed to pop a tire today....
Today was the latest. If it happens again, I think we're gonna decide she must have an invisible gremlin following her around.
Some days...I'm very glad the more dangerous snakes we have are garter snakes...
There are SOME benefits to freezing climates!
Well, that's positive, at least!
Oh, dear... Jill is Margaret's age, more or less, so I can imagine Margaret's reaction pretty well.
Margaret has a job? Wow, they grow up fast...
Sigh. 40 minutes and still the program's not done. This is like the dark age programs!
Did your cookies come today?
No cookies, no book.
I really think I'm going to have to call and argue with the publishing company, since they apparently think they shipped it (I'm assuming, since I've been charged), but they didn't.
Yeah, Margaret is working part time in housekeeping at the hospital and also doing that violin making school. That's a coupla days a week, too. She's turning into something of a tool geek...
Sounds cool! Heh, you should get her to move in and help with the bills, sounds like she's got a little money.
Too bad about the cookies, I was hoping they'd be there for your birthday :-(
All her money is going toward the violin dealie...so nope, she's not got any.
I'm still hoping things will just get better.
