The Hobbit Hole XVI - Still round the corner there may wait...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Still round the corner there may wait...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

'Evening!

It's Friday.

It's payday.

It's two weeks to closing.

Never go grocery shopping when you're hungry.

Evening!

My code status: part A works, with one weird exception. Part B doesn't work at all. Still, I should be able to goof off for a while... maybe read until dinnertime and then come back to it.

Cool.

Heh... am looking at my gas bill that finally arrived. Somehow in the next week, I have to come up with... $5.83. Wonder if I can possibly scrape it up?

Well, I paid enough for 'em in the first place! Should be able to get, oh, maybe $4 apiece. More for the nice hardcover Trigun that I just couldn't resist the other day... it was beautiful... and cheap, I mean the paperback version cost more, really. And it's mucho cool.

Mmmm...food.

I'm just back from a walk - walked very fast. Hopefully that'll do something to head off the headache, and in any case it got out a little of my frustration.

Now to find...fooood.

I figgered it would be bad when our local review idjit (didn't like TTT because it was the middle of the story) gave it 3 and a half stars...

I gots me an inhaler. Seems I'm not over the bronchitis. Still have a low grade fever. But he's holding off on another antibiotic for a few days. Said to check back if I still have the fever next week.

The good looking dwarf rises for the purpose of an announcement.

As of this week, I have discontinued "Mr. Write" (www.wardsmythe.com). I don't know how long the site will remain active, but I have closed my account.

The bottom line was too much work, not enough return. Not sure where we're going with it, but I'll focus my writing/editing efforts elsewhere.

Thanks for playing. ;-)

Thanks. It's been a long time coming. The reality is I just don't have the time to be an effective political commentator/columnist part time.

I'm not bummed about it or anything. It's just time to regroup.
