I am concerned about the Australian election, which will come in October, before ours. Kerry's sister has been over there telling the Australians that they are in more danger because they support us in Iraq.

Rush was just saying that the ONLY ally that has supported us in every war for the last 100 years is Australia. My brother-in-law knows a lot of people in Australia, and they are increasingly anti-American, because of their leftist press. Rush quoted Krauthammer as saying that Kerry is taking the exact same position as the terrorists.

I find it shameful that Kerry is doing this. He is hoping that Howard will lose and he can trumpet that we are being deserted by an ally (because the Labour candidate is promising an immediate withdrawal).

This is the most worried about any issue I have been since Kerry was nominated. I don't know how one can counter this type of stuff.

JEANNE continues west.  A HP ridge over eastern CONUS is digging further south into NORLANT than models predicted this morning.  JEANNE will likely move a bit south of track for a while, but should respond with a sharper turn to the NNW when it occurs.

From sundown tonight to sundown tomorrow is Yom Kipper.  Jewish people may not be listening to radio and TV.  Please try and keep them aware of the progress of JEANNE.

Note that the path of JEANNE is such that even though the landfall is in northern Florida, on the forecast track the effects of the storm's severity will be felt from Ft. Lauderdale, FL, to Kitty Hawk, NC.

...JEANNE HEADING FOR FLORIDA...HURRICANE WARNINGS ARE UP...PREPARE FOR CATEGORY III ALONG MOST OF FLORIDA ATLANTIC COAST...

JEANNE has developed a secondary eyewall, so is recycling.  That said, it will likely finish that process soon, and also begin moving over cold water.  Steady intensification to category III is likely prior to landfall.

Models have JEANNE running along the coast either as a hurricane or a strong tropical storm all the way from landfall near Vero Beach up to Kitty Hawk, NC.  Prepare accordingly!

This is a time of testing...for Floridians, and for Jeb Bush. I am confident you will pass with flying colors.

My suggestion is to enjoy your time in Orlando, if you end up evacuating. I wouldn't mind having a weekend with my daughter and son-in-law, in order to share memories and get to know my son-in-law better.

This winter, when we have blizzards and no power, you can commiserate with us.
