She also said she was embarrassed to receive tax cuts from the Bush Administration. (But the real question is whether she sent a check to the Treasury returning them--bet she didn't!)

Oil has reached $49/bbl.

Good rundown, as usual, about the sKerry campaign now. That sKerry has to work on his base now has to be a great source of depression for that campaign, and they know how very easy it is to turn large segments against him. Take the black voters, for instance, or the young voters. In both cases sKerry has been attempting to walk a tight rope. This explains his difficulty, touting "civil rights leader" while opposing voucher/religious interest since he has to keep his union teachers. His 'don't privatize SS' in the other scare tactic to keep older voters turns off the younger voters who clearly benefit from being able to do their own investing, so he has to bring out the "Bush will draft you" stupid lie to try to keep them.

The sKerry campaign is a real mess, but an honest assessment reveals that is only a window on the mess the Demodogs have with their "base".

That sounds like my book marks. But then my filing is not the best in the world either. I know where everything is, but Roomey can't find anything in there. He gets so frustrated when he goes into my files. He told me that my files are just as muddled as the inside of my head. Only I know where and what's in there

Mozie here, FReeping from an undisclosed location.;^)

Actually, I'm at the library. Our home computer is on life support.

I have 45 minutes left of my allotted one hour of internet access time. 15 minutes were wasted checking e-mail, etc.:)

Is anybody around?

It is always amazing to me when people maintain that the more "cosmetic" things about a candidate "don't affect my vote at all". They DO affect it, and ONLY if a person is very vigilant in pursuing what is at the core of a candidate and his beliefs can that be countered.

Ms.sKerry is one of those more "cosmetic" aspects. Voters who are at the end of their decision process take such things into account. Sometimes that is in the voting booth, when something that an acquaintance at church or a distant relative said two weeks ago comes back to haunt them, "can you imagine having her as first lady?" ... This gal is a major problem for anybody who is not from a hugely Demodog area.

I am sure you probably already are there... but there are two ways I look for things ...

First, use the "Search" for function on the computer ... start button or some such. I would limit such a search in this case to "*.pdf files" and "last one day" and possibly even "size greater than 500kBytes" (but that would be overkill)

Second method, ask for the download again, and note where the application is actually saying that it will be put (usually works) and halt the download of most of the file...

actually, where many applications choose to put a file depends on the "extension" ( .pdf ) so you don't actually have to reload the same file to find out where it got put. any similar file will go the same place unless you explicitly change it.

Hi, Mozie! She opined that we would catch OBL before the election (sort of hinting that we could bring him in whenever we want to).

Bleh. Those people disgust me.

Did you 2 figure out how to get the report to come up? Jemian's instructions should work. Peach, I assume you have Acrobat Reader installed on your computer. It should have asked you if you wanted to open it or save it as a file just before you started the download. Let me know your progress.

Hi ML, thank you. My computer is so old, my guru told me it was dying, cause every once in awhile, right in the middle of something if conks out and I have to restart or it conks out then pops back on. Somewhat like my brain.

Got a Doctors appointment in a bit, he found something when they checked my blood. I'm still doctoring the spider bite, he told me that brown recluses were cross breeding with other spiders, so, please everyone, have someone do your insecticing, get rid of the buggers. Because, the bite is not healing as fast as he thought it should, he had my blood checked.

I interpreted her to say it in such a way that she blatantly accused us of that TIRED OLD LIBERAL October surprise mantra that we already have him and will dust him off, puff him up, and trot him out JUST IN TIME for the election. Sort of what you were saying, Jane, except I heard her say it with hard accusation.

Sounds like either a loose connection (card or cable) or your power supply is going south on you. (I build computers for a hobby).

To: ABG(anybody but Gore)
I remember watching the first debate in 2000, and towards the beginning, Dubya looked kinda lost on a question.

2,000 was the year that George W. Bush first played in the big leagues. Gore had been there for 8 years. Dubya did not know how he would stack up against an 8 year veteran. So Dubya was very nervous. But after the first encounter in the debate the adrenalin kicked in. I suspect it was much like the first time fighter pilot Bush was required to dog fight a much more experienced fighter pilot. The hands shake and the tummy churns.. until the first shots are fired.. then the desire to win kicks in and the right stuff skills take over.

Once George W. Bush survived the first encounter, he found out he was as good and maybe better than Gore.

This time it is Bush who is the experienced pro and Kerry is the spoiled little rich kid up against the President of the USA for the first time.

The one thing I knew about George W. Bush in 2,000 was he had passed the aptitude test to be a fighter pilot. He scored high on the leadership test and not so hot on the flight skills test.

I learned to fly back in the 1970's. My first instructor was a retired airforce ace. He had 5 MIGs under his belt. He too had scored high on the leadership and low on the flight skills.

After he soloed me, I asked to know how I stacked up as a student. The problem was I was his first primary flight student. Every student he had taught in the airforce was aready a pilot. Ken taught them to be figher pilots. So he showed me his own flight log. He had soloed me in half the time his airforce instructor had soloed him. It appeared I had better natural flight skills. But I also learned that natural flight skills are not what it takes to make an Airforce ACE.

The reason they did not wash Ken out of the airforce out was the tests showed he had the right stuff of a leader. That means he would make good decisions in very high stress situations.

Ken told me was almost anyone can be taught to fly a plane well. It just takes longer for some people to learn the skills requred. But what can't be taught is how to make smart decisions in a heartbeat under the extreme stress of arial combat.

Ken proved the Airforce right, by becoming an ace.

George W. Bush's test results show a man who can remain cool, and in total control. Dubya's test scores show ne can make smart decisions under extreme stress.

Kerry does not look like he has the right stuff. George W. Bush proved with Gore he does have the right stuff.

It would matter not the nature of the contest... a fight with planes or a fight with words the right stuff is the right stuff. I would not want to try to best either Chuck Yeager or George W. Bush in any kind of fight. Let me say it again... the right stuff is the right stuff. It matter not if the contest is fought with words at 10 paces, rifles at 100 yards, or atomic bombs at 6,000 miles. The right stuff is the stuff.

Kerry will find that out in just a few days.

The problem for democrats is they only do well in a downturned economy.

If the issue is not the economy, Democrats can't do well becuase they can't take a position on any issue except the economy.

A democratic candidate can't please working class parents and the school teachers union at the same time. Democrata can't please union members and farmers at the same time.

They can't please lesbians, feminists, and working class americans at the same time. They can't please the military and the media at the same time.

That is the problem for John Kerry.

The Democratis party is not united on issues. There are no issues in the 2004 race that all factions fo the Democrati party agree upon. Kerry either has to flip and flop depening on the group he is addressing, or he has to remain silent on the most important issues of the day.

If the economy is not the main issue Democrats get beat.
