Can;t those things be implanted under the skin? I had hoped (foolish of me) that Dan Rather might have been "implanted" with one of those when he went to Iraq to interview Saddam.

But if we can track them using these devices, they would likely also be detectable by the terrorists.

Where are the human shields when you need them?

Yes, implant them under the skin somewhere undetectable. I wish that we would do something like this, it could save a lot of lives and catch some bad people.

It would have to be surgically implanted. You think they won't take the person's camera/purse, clothes, etc. away? You think they won't do a body cavity search?

This could work. Who cares if they could detect them. By the time they figured out why so many of them were being killed inside their Mosques we would of already killed their top leaders.

The solution is the ID Sniper Rifle:

It is used to implant a GPS-microchip in the body of a human being, using a high powered sniper rifle as the long distance injector. The microchip will enter the body and stay there, causing no internal damage, and only a very small amount of physical pain to the target. It will feel like a mosquito-bite lasting a fraction of a second. At the same time a digital camcorder with a zoom-lense fitted within the scope will take a high-resolution picture of the target. This picture will be stored on a memory card for later image-analysis.

Why use the ID SNIPER(tm) rifle?

As the urban battlefield grows more complex and intense, new ways of managing and controlling crowds are needed. The attention of the media changes the rules of the game. Sometimes it is difficult to engage the enemy in the streets without causing damage to the all important image of the state. Instead EMPIRE NORTH suggests to mark and identify a suspicious subject on a safe distance, enabeling the national law enforcement agency to keep track on the target through a satellite in the weeks to come.

I've been saying this for months, and I know if average joes like us have been saying it, our intelligence must be working on it.

Ubiquitous surveillance is the name of the game - and here's how to do it cheaply:

Aerovironments Inc. makes these with full video capability - and is trying to supply a deaf, dumb and blind US government with these, for all kinds of applications.

Won't work. These animals WILL know where they're implanted and WILL simply cut them out of their captives.

Won't work, Anything that is going to emit energy, (eg: send a location or id) needs a power source.

In the case of Digital Angel or doggie tags it is supplied by the device, while very close to the chip, (a few feet or less,) used to interogate it.
