Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads . And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
A few of us thought it would be interesting and informative to have a chat thread where we can share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the last thread we had a great time and were a great help to each other working through lessons and training, horse lamenesses and illnesses, questions and challenges and always just our stories we like to tell.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the last thread, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.
Is she here yet? ;~D
Good afternoon:
Thread not working this morning.
Duchess: Welcome. I've added you to the morning ping list. If you want off let me know. I usually post a good morning ping to keep everyone current.
Hair & ecurbh: Is she there yet?
Becky
Tomorrow is fair day. I think Rocky is fine to go. Has shown no more signs of lameness/stifness.
Becky
She's here!!!!!
Pics are on the way...
Thank you, I appreciate being put on the ping list.
Oh boy!
Becky
NO problem, glad you're here:)

So what did Dem presidential contender John Kerry take out of his jacket as he approached the stage [with his back to the auditorium's audience]?
What did Kerry place on the podium? Video replays of the Kerry maneuver played all weekend long on the internet. "John Kerry brought prohibited material into last Thursday's Presidential Debate," charged indcjournal.com.
MORE Drudge
Bay is showing some jealousy over this new mare, like she is a threat to his girlfriend (the pony) rather than a new member of his harem.... He runs interference between the new mare and the pony, and rushes the gate if the new mare and the pony get together. I am not sure he knows she is also a mare. He does this "comehere comehere comehere!, getaway getaway getaway!" thing and stays between the new mare and the pony.
At the moment they are still seperated, and probably will stay this way for awhile, till Bay stops lunging at her. At the moment, Bay and the pony have lost interest for awhile and she is having some hay in between pacing around.
She's got a kind eye, looks like you've got a keeper :)
She's nice! And is taking all these changes and new surroundings with a very calm attitude.
You sure Bay in his 20's lol. Once they settle down he'll be ok, I bet.
But they finally touched... And Bay let the pony visit..... for a minute.
Thanks, I'm really quite taken with her!
Looking forward to starting to work with her over the next few days.

Great pictures.
They'll all get it worked out:)
Becky
She looks just like ecurbh. :)
BigMack
We let her out into the back forty, so they now share a whole fenceline. Bay still rushed at her, but they seem to be staying on their own respective sides of the fence.
She's about 15 hands, yes. Only about 2 inches shorter than Bay, but Bay looks a lot bigger in overall mass than she is. We'll round her out though.... Cover up those hips anyhow. ;~D
