In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....

plaudit \PLAW-dit\,noun:
plaudits; noun, plural

1. A round or demonstration of applause.
2. Enthusiastic approval; an expression of praise.

The aim of the wise man was no longer the plaudits of the masses but autarkeia, or self-sufficiency.
--Peter France, Hermits: The Insights of Solitude

Etymology: Latin plaudite, "applaud" (said by players at the end of a performance), from plaudere, "to applaud."

Well, had my first hurricane. Actually, it was probably a tropical depression. But we did get a good soaking.

Hiya, Sea! How goes it? And what happened to your old fur-lined handcuffs? Did they finally die a natural death?

Ah, I see that 58 is another early bird. Is the coffee made, or shall I make some?

Buckhead deserves plaudits from a grateful nation.

I'd better finish this bid and get it to the customer near Boerne-I have to go to the grocery store and feed store today on the way home-fortunately both are on the highway I'll be on...

It should be up any minute-I'm watching for it, but if it isn't up before I finish my bid and get it printed, I'll have to join afternoon class instead-I'm determined not to let this be another rushed and crazy Monday.

Have a good day.

I think we are going furniture shopping for anew bed for Jax. One of those loft type arrangements that a desk can go underneath.
