GOV. Pataki's son Teddy might become a U.S. Marine. The 22-year-old senior at Yale, where he is majoring in the classics and is president of Zeta Psi, went through Officer Candidate School in Virginia over the summer. "It's tough. Not everybody makes it," said one insider. Teddy, who was named after Pataki's hero, Teddy Roosevelt, has the option of joining the Marines as an officer when he graduates from Yale. "He hasn't made a decision yet," said a spokeswoman for the governor. If he does accept a commission, he'd likely be sent to Iraq. (PageSix)

CBS curmudgeon Andy Rooney indicated yesterday he believes the controversial documents on President Bush's National Guard service are fake and said it could cost Dan Rather down the road. "I'm surprised at their reluctance to concede they're wrong," Rooney said, referring to CBS brass.
