Bush does not have time, but I am sure several of his staffers lurk around.

Maybe a "thank you for your support" would be nice?

Do you Think The President Ever Reads Free Republic Posts?

Yes. I do when I have time. Not much lately, though, with this whole election thing going on.

No. Get a grip. Do you think the Prez of the USA actually has time to go onto the internet and cruise around? And, if he did, he'd probably only be going to ESPN anyway!

Bush MAKES the news. I am sure a staffer briefed him about Buckhead though.

I wonder if it would be against against any campaign rule for a candidate to solicit votes on a message board/blog? Would Free Republic allow it?

Yeah, I think I saw this message from user Dubya43 on FreeRepublic a few weeks back:
"Howdy folks. This is President Bush. Someone else already took 'Dubya' so I had to improvisionize my name. Please wontcha vote fer me this November?"

Like most people on FreeRepublic, I was going to vote for John Kerry until I saw that, but now I've changed my vote to George W. Bush!

Would Free Republic allow it?

He'd last about 5 minutes before being zotted. </sarcasm>

W is too busy protecting the nation to have time online.

But I bet his Mom and Dad read here and tell him some of what goes on.

He got banned. I think it was one of those incendiary Barbecue threads. Or it might have been one of those "do beans belong in chili" things that got so many FReepers tossed. You gotta watch yourself around here.
