The 2004 Republican Convention is over but it was a good one. The GOP Convention will be the most historic political convention in our time. "A well oiled machine," is the phrase most heard the day after as delegates made their way home. Even the balloon drop went off without a hitch or foul words.
The speakers gave remarkably meaningful, important speeches to pump up our party and reminding the American public that pretending terrorism isn't a big deal doesn't make it go away. If you want a better, safer world for your children and grandchildren to grow up in, vote for our president,
Oh, and don't vote for that sitzpinkler John Kerry.
Hopefully we can coax Iowa Granny and Hillary's Lovely Legs into telling us all about their convention adventures.

Liberty is the soul's room to breathe. The state confines us, controls us, directs us. Each new law is a choice ripped from us. Every new bureaucrat a master over us and yet we instinctively assume it should solve all our problems in the name of freedom. More bureaucracy is not an option.
We may have to kill them all:
(Satanic)Cleric supports targeting children

An extremist Islamic (Satanic) cleric based in Britain said yesterday that he would support hostage-taking at British schools if carried out by terrorists with a just cause.
Omar Bakri Mohammed, the spiritual leader of the extremist sect al-Muhajiroun, said that holding women and children hostage would be a reasonable course of action for a Muslim who has suffered under British rule.
In an interview with The Sunday Telegraph, Mr Mohammed said: "If an Iraqi Muslim carried out an attack like that in Britain, it would be justified because Britain has carried out acts of terrorism in Iraq.
"As long as the Iraqi did not deliberately kill women and children, and they were killed in the crossfire, that would be okay."
Mr Mohammed, 44, who lives in Edmonton, north London, but is originally from Syria, also claimed that the Chechen rebels were not responsible for the deaths of more than 350 people - at least half of them children - who are so far known to have died in Beslan.
"The Mujahideen [Chechen rebels] would not have wanted to kill those people, because it is strictly forbidden as a Muslim to deliberately kill women and children. It is the fault of the Russians," he said.
The father of seven came to Britain in 1985 after being deported from Saudi Arabia because of his membership of a banned group. He has since been given leave by the Home Office to remain in Britain for five years but the Government is reviewing his status.
He gave an interview yesterday to promote a "celebratory" conference in London next Saturday to commemorate the third anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
Andrew Dismore, the Labour MP for Hendon, was infuriated by Mr Mohammed's comments. "That sounds to me like incitement and I will report him to Scotland Yard," he said. "It is an insult to most moderate Muslims, who are sick of people like this claiming to represent them."

Or maybe not.
Muslims! get your shift together, quickly.
John McCain is nuts.
Bush, on the other hand, has not had a day off since the convention and what did he do today? Went to church, went bicycling and now is off campaigning in W Va. Which candidate has the most energy?

Waist, maybe (pre-South Beach diet, of course).
The stories coming out of Beslan are too awful to post.
May God help us all.
I subpoenae you to clean this monitor, dangerous one.
So you and OG aren't scouring the web for get-a-ways to the big apple?

You guys may want to vote absentee this year.
Oh yes.
He's headed to Colorado and I'm staying home. A 'vacation' for both of us.
;-)
Understand, and enjoy.

Why isn't he wearing ear protection?

As for the Russian school atrocity, I can't read or watch the stories. It's like children left locked in a hot car...I can hardly type that, let alone read the stories.
Some things are just unthinkable.
Yes, to both.
Who knows??
As far as I'm concerned, Clinton will forever be remembered as the cheese in a Bush Sandwich.
They obviously know I am dangerous to society.
You too? Every time I've flown in the last three years, I've gotten wanded, my backpack's been searched, and this last time, I was even patted down! I told my kids that there must be a lot of 50-ish, fat women attempting to hijack planes these days!
SEN. Hillary Clinton might seem as liberal as can be to the Republicans who convened here, but some gay activists are disappointed in her failure to endorse same-sex marriage.
"Clinton maintains that she is against same-sex marriage on 'religious, moral and traditional grounds.' She maintains that marriage is between only a man and a woman," fumes one gay rabble-rouser. "She also repeatedly says to whoever asks that she would have voted for the Defense of Marriage Act had she been in Congress back then."
Now the activists are focusing on designer Marc Jacobs, who has a window in his showcase store on Bleecker Street devoted to Clinton, with proceeds from products displayed with her picture going to Friends of Clinton.
"Jacobs has to get over the glamor and glitter of Sen. Clinton and face reality she is no friend to the gay community," said our source. "Jacobs' supporting her is a slap in the face to those of us fighting for marriage equality."
A spokesman for Hillary said the senator "believes that people in committed relationships should have equal rights and benefits and has long supported civil unions." (PageSix)
