Word For The Day, Friday, 9/3/04
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
POSIT: verb. (pa-zit) tr.v. pos·it·ed, pos·it·ing, pos·its
1. To assume the existence of; postulate. See Synonyms at presume. 2. To put forward, as for consideration or study; suggest: If a book is hard going, it ought to be good. If it posits a complex moral situation, it ought to be even better (Anthony Burgess). 3. To place firmly in position.
Etymology: [From Latin positus, past participle of pnere, to place. See position.]
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

Practice makes perfect.....post on....
I'm not a camping sort either. However, I am making an exception here, as we will most likely be imbibing the better part of the afternoon and evening - and so the tent is the lesser of 2 evils, as I will not get into a vehicle for a 30 mile drive home.
It won't be all that bad - We've got an air matress, so I will actually be sleeping with real sheets!!!
Good morning all..........
Morning, Whyis.
I've got to start shredding cabbage here shortly....but I need more coffee in me first.
Are you making the ramen noodle cabbage salad? I love that!
I don't know what ramen noodle cabbage salad is!!!
I like this dish because it can be served hot, cold, or room temperature. And it is perfect for a BBQ because it contains no mayo.
I posit the following question to all: "How much longer will it be before we witness the complete meltdown of the Democratic party?"
My son and I came up with a theory of our own about the slick one's heart problem........ it involved cocaine and a couple of wh@res.......lol
I thought he was watching the Republican convention when it occurred to him how his party and additional fifteen minutes of fame are going down the drain. It did get bad Thursday night for him, perhaps during W's speech.
Silly me, I clicked on your link.
Sorry - I should never use an @ symbol when cussing.........
Better than the real thing! Or thong, as Robert would say.
LOL!!! funny story.
YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
for the first time in I don't know how long --- I am really and truly blissfully ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hubby just left with the yung'un for our friends' house. He's going to hang out giving them a hand for a couple hours and then come back here to collect the balance of the stuff we're taking and return my van to me.
Haha.......... or, as Robert would say, "Tent? Was your tent also rising Robert"?
Enjoy - I'm kind of a loner myself - I don't really go for shopping with other women - I'd rather be alone so I can do what I want..............
I rarely go shopping with other women, either.....except my SIL - I love going shopping with her because we have so much fun.
Shopping with her is an all day affair and we plan it that way, because we go from shop to shop to shop........The only time hubby dares go with us is if the plan is for only going to garden centers and nurseries!!!
an air mattress will mean you aren't a cripple when you get up in the AM, but what if it....rains? it is sure gloomy looking here....
