I love the SOUND of heavy snowfall at night, when there's nothing to overwhelm it. It's hard to even describe that to someone who's never experienced it.

Few things more magical than a heavy snowfall at night.I love standing outside at night during a heavy snowfall. Most sound is muffled, and it is, as you said, magical.
