The Hobbit Hole XV - Pass them by! Pass them by!
See our freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net home page! ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Pass them by! Pass them by!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

My '68 Chevy was stolen from out of my driveway last month.

Dang, girl! What a bummer!

I can't believe your IT guy screwed up your computers AGAIN! Didn't he do the same thing (removing programs) earlier in the summer when you were going to do the program for the kids?

I'm surprised that the college is using AVG, too, in a way. It seems decent, but to my understanding, it's a freeware product. Not always the best bet.

For our labs, BTW, we load one computer with EVERYTHING that lab is meant to have and then use that as an image for the others, so they end up identical - nothing missing or loaded differently. It works well!

Yep, same guy.

Losing the Chevy hit me hard. Not just cause of the car thievin' but that it was Grama's. That hurt.

My folks are wanting to sell their house, which is on Lake Marble Falls. Not sure if you are wanting countryside to go with the house...they live in a subdivision, but its a secure area and very pretty.

That was exactly what my work-study and I had done at the end of the school term last April. We'd cleaned all the crap off all machines and put the image on all. Had 'em all ready to go for last week.... enter the bozo.

Seriously was thinkin' of maybe lawn care. I spent the weekend with Myranda and Sharon last weekend. They have a really cool first place. It's only an old fishing cabin but down near Lake Austin. In the midst of cattle pasture with oaks and mesquites and a little creek (that was dry) running off to the side. It's not *on* the lake but close enough to smell the water.

The cabin is just 2 rooms and very small but has a porch the size of the rest of the cabin out front. Only other fishing cabins in sight of the place. It's not what most young folks would want - but it is exactly Myranda's dream of a little place, out in the country, short walk to the water, good fishing there and nice terrain with trees. We could hear coyotes at night and there's no freakin' streetlights so the night stars were incredible!!!

I slept all 3 nights on the front porch because it was just too heavenly to go inside. Thing is, suburbia is encroaching on that area. If I were to move there, I think I could make a decent living doing lawn work for the suburbians. And I would enjoy it!!!

Bear and Rose came out last Saturday night and mooted with us on their porch. We just had chips, salsa and chili con queso and talked for hours. Had a really nice time. :-) I could live like that again. :-)

Hmmmm... Marble Falls would be good!!!! Much less settled than nearer to Austin. I'm actually thinkin' of looking for something around Spicewood. That's not far from Marble Falls!
