Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Pass them by! Pass them by!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

It's looks as if She Who Needs Cheeseburger's is all over the News forum this morning.

umm...Ann?
I envy her boniness and wish to emulate it in the male manner.
Without taking up jogging or giving up cheesburgers...
...dream on...

Pretty...
Especially since my state (MI) has gone from Strong Kerry (dark blue fill) at the beginning of August to Tied (empty) today...

Without taking up jogging or giving up cheesburgers...This is a dilema, isn't it.

Kristkindlmarkt! Gluhwein and spiced coffee!
Yep! And roasted chestnuts in a paper cone...I love those. The first ones would be so hot you'd burn your fingers getting them open, and the last one in the tip of the cone would be almost cold by the time you got to it, but still soooo good!
And fresh soft pretzels, with cheese. Mmmm...
In true hobbit-like fashion, I remember each place primarily by the food I got there! ;-)

During seminar, I filled in most of my plot holes. Now, name my heroine and I'm golden! I still have to think of a name, too. As for plot...I don't need one. ;-)

Good morning!
We're gonna have "varations on a theme by Jenb" for dinner...I cooked a pot roast in the crockpot all night, shredded it this morning and put it back in the crockpot with salsa, extra Chipotle Tabasco and some broth. Should hopefully be nothing but velly tasty mush by tonight. ;-)
But it does mean I'm gonna be white-knuckling it by four or so, worrying that my house is burning down. I need to just use the thing enough that I'm no longer afraid of it.
It's a beauteous day! Starting off cold, though. In the mid-thirties now.

I think 'lectric crock pots aren't nearly as dangerous as the empty coffee pot you left turned on. ;~D

I don't have to worry about THAT any more! I use my little espresso pot every day. That's just ONE of it's charms...I can't forget to turn it off!
Believe me, I've done my fair share of worrying over that thing, too. "Did I? Didn't I? Will my house be a smouldering pile of ash when I get home??"

"That thing" being the coffee pot, when I used the electric one.

Rosie, the average crock pot uses about the same amount of power as a 150 watt light. You don't worry about leaving a light on, do you?
To: HairOfTheDog; ExGeeEye
Didja like how I spoilt his precious? LOL
To: RosieCotton
Heh... I know all about the "did I turn the coffee pot off?" debate.
Every time I actually went home to check, it was off.
And sometimes when I didn't, it was on. ;~D
